Merry Midnight, Mineral Makeup Mutiny

That title has way too much alliteration for my my taste, haha. First off I wanted to show a picture of OPI's Merry Midnight, my favorite color right now. It is such a unique color, a purple with blue sparkles and red flecks. It's so cool. Since my hand has icky burn marks all over it, here is a link to Grey's blog. This picture captures it perfectly. I managed to succeed today in not making my right hand look like a 5 year old did it, so I'm pretty proud of myself. I feel like since I'm part of the makeup blogging community now, I should share my thoughts on the Mineral Makeup Mutiny. I think it's great that there is a list out of companies I can trust to take my money for something they worked hard to produce themselves. It also saddens me that there seems to be a need for a website like this. I feel nervous about placing orders lately, because I'm learning how many repackagers there are, and how I've probably lost a good deal of money to them. I consider makeup my art medium, and basically the only thing I really have talent and passion for, and it's upsetting to have to worry about if I'm getting ripped off every time I place an order anywhere. I was recently googling the names of companies I've ordered from with the word "repackaged" after it. I stumbled upon this entry from the MMM blog. If you scroll down to the comments, you will see the first one is from Christina, owner of Pure Luxe cosmetics. Seeing this really upset me- the way she threatened a legal statement, as has been seen with Orglamix and LimeCrime, is a very poor and juvenile way to run your business, in my opinion. It also upset me because because now I am quite certain (although one can never be 100% positive) that Pure Luxe probably repackages some pigments. I have at least 30 samples from there, and it really pisses me off I spent my money getting what could be jacked up prices on products I could have gotten elsewhere. Then, while reading this post in Grey's blog yesterday, I saw the pictures of Heavenly Natural's 'Hush a Bye' next to Glamour Doll Eyes' 'Dirty Jeans'. To me these pigments look nearly identical to a color I own from Pure Luxe called 'Galaxy'. I also own many Heavenly Natural Beauty eyeshadows which are also nearly identical to straight pigments. Do I think the owners of these businesses make some completely unique eyeshadow products? Yes. Do I also think that they are repackaging pigments and not disclaiming it right on the page? Yes. I think, even if you will answer honestly to an email about whether or not you repackage, to not directly state it on your page is being dishonest. I also emailed the owner of Glittersniffer asking if her products were original. This was 6 days ago and I have still not received a response, which leads me to believe they are indeed not original. And if they are, it's poor customer service to leave an email sitting for so long, especially when she states she will "answer emails pretty quickly". Sorry for the rant, I'm just pretty bummed I put my money into companies that aren't seeming too honest at this point. To end on a happier note, here's some kissing anteaters!

Hi-Fi EOTD

For my eyes today I decided to try out some of my new colors from Hi-Fi Cosmetics, which I will be reviewing in the next couple days (I can tell you already I'm very pleased). My eyes reminded me of a subdued version of the French flag, tres jolie. This is one of the only look I can really think of where I used a variety of colors, but nothing crazy bright. I was really happy with how it turned out, this is probably my favorite look so far. :) What I used: Millions of Peaches (inner lid) Tell Me Lies (center of lid) Chicago (outer lid) Jemma Kidd i-conic eyeliner in 'Pin Up' (blue in the waterline) Jemma Kidd i-conic eyeliner in 'Fashionista' (silver under waterline) Raindrops on Roses (under the eyeliners) Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Mascara Pixi Lip Booster in 'Thena' My makeup from Target is actually the most expensive makeup I own- the eyeliners and the Pixi gloss are $18 each. I also have a Jemma Kidd lip gloss ($20, I think), that is clear in the tube and adjusts to your lip color. I think these are way too overpriced, but the eyeliners are a good size, and they really stay all day. I also have some in green and light blue :) I would reccomend them if you really want to splurge. Tomorrow I'll be reviewing Hi-Fi cosmetics, among other things. My Detrivore products arrived on the same day, so I'll be reviewing those shortly as well. Happy Thanksgiving!

Silver EOTD

Hi everyone, my hand healed enough that I can type today! I still have blisters and burn marks over my wrists and arms though... gross! I guess I just live life on the edge, working a dangerous job like mine. Arby's is crazy, man. You drop one piece of popcorn chicken into the fryer and BAM there goes the oil splashing and you lose your left hand usage for the night. This Thanksgiving I am grateful for my boyfriend, Sam, my friends, my family, my pets (a dog, cat, 2 degus, 2 chinchillas), Lady Gaga, Hello Kitty, and MAKEUP! I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving. I decided to do a silver EOTD on Tuesday using some of my new Meow Cosmetics samples. I was left feeling semi-disappointed, like I was when I swatched them. The color 'Broken Mirror' didn't stay on well, and I had to reapply it during the day. What I used: Sabertooth, by Meow (inner lid) Broken Mirror, by Meow (center of lid) Nile, by Meow (outer lid) Train to Nowhere, by The She Space (under eyes) Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Mascara I've seen the pictures of the Holiday collections on the Meow website, and there are a lot of colors that look beautiful. But I don't think I'm going to order again, especially right now. I'm trying to only spend $20 ordering makeup until Christmas, because I have to get presents for everyone. I love the holidays. :)

burn

I recieved my Detrivore and Hi Fi orders today. I was going to review but I just got a 2nd degree burn all over my hand and arm from work, so I won't be blogging for a couple days. xoxo

Short post, Glittersniffer

As of yet I still have not recieved a response from Glittersniffer. I sincerely hope I do, because I WANT to purchase her products, but not if they are repackaged. If anyone has an answer they are pretty sure of regarding her makeup, I'd love to hear it. I also forgot to mention in my previous post that when I ordered my Detrivore samples and primer, I had free shipping! I also got an email saying the package has already been shipped. I'm very impressed so far, and I haven't even received the product yet! I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new Lash Blast Length mascara yet? I used to use Lash Blast until I found the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme, basically the same thing but better. Sorry I haven't done any EOTD's for a couple days, I haven't been feeling very inspired. I did a purple look today but the shades were all just a little too similar, and it ended up looking like one color. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have better luck.

Sunday is boring!

Hi everyone, I'm not feeling inspired enough right now to bother to actually shower and do a look, so I thought I'd ramble for a while. :) I keep forgetting to say, which is weird since it's the most important thing ever, that I got into Texas A&M! It's my top choice school and I'm so excited. Even though it's out of state, I can probably get in state tuition since I qualify for the Honors Program. Yesterday was 10 months with my boyfriend. Things are really looking up right now! Moving on in the makeup direction, I thought I'd talk about a product I can't live without, my Revlon ColorStay under eye concealer. I have very dark under eye circles all the time, it's just my genetics. I hated when people would always say "Oh, you look tired" when I was totally fine. I tried some Physician's Formula stuff, it looks like a yellow tube of lipstick. It didn't work though :/ (but their redness concealer, which looks like a green tube of lipstick, works very well for me). I grabbed the Revlon stuff on a whim, and it makes a HUGE difference. Even if I barely put on any makeup I use it. I saw a review of Youtube just now where the girl thought it didn't work too well. I think it's because she put SO much on. The less I use, the better it looks. You just need a very tiny amount. I very much want something I saw on the Nouveau Cheap blog, the Nailene French Manicure Guides. They're these little nail stickers that you use to get perfect looking tips. *drool* I wonder if I just did cool tips, and not painted my whole nail, if I could get away with it at work? :P Yesterday I placed an order with Hi Fi Cosmetics, . I ordered 10 samples, and I'm pretty excited. The swatches I've seen on various blogs make them look really great. I also ordered some eyeshadow samples and primer from Detrivore. I can't wait to try out the primer, which the lovely Lisa Kate reccomended to me. Yesterday I also emailed the owner of Glittersniffer. The colors are stunning, and I want to make sure they are created by herself as opposed to repackaged pigments. I sent an e-mail asking about it, and as of yet I have not heard a response. I'm sure she is busy with orders and hopefully I will hear back in the next couple days. If I get myself in gear and actually do a look today, I'll be posting it later. :)

Meow Cosmetics Review

I recieved my order from Meow Cosmetics today, where I ordered a bunch of samples, some "brow beaters", and I also recieved free samples of their Feliner in "Hiss" and some Crystaline Cat Glow Powder. It came with the personalized statement on the invoice, so of course I was initially excited. The samples came in this cute little bag. Here are swatches of the colors I chose from the Egyptian Treasures collection. From left to right: Ra, Nile, Reincarnation, Tutankhamun, Miw, Sand Dune, Royal. I really liked the Tutankhamun, the others all seemed pretty generic to me. I already have many similar golds, and a similar green to Miw. The color Royal seemed almost just like Tutankhamun, but more faded. I was more impressed with my Friday the 13th collection samples. They are only available on any Friday the 13th (and a few days after, apparently), so if you want any you have to wait a while! I was excited for these, and I'm glad they're more interesting than the Egyptian Treasures. The last two colors are from their permanent collections. From left to right: Spell, Broken Mirror, Fate, Paranormal, Skeptic, Sabertooth, Larceny. I really like Spell, and Fate was impressing me until I saw it's prettier cousin, Skeptic. This color is so gorgeous, it's like layers of purple and sparkly pink. I can tell I'll be wearing this a LOT, so maybe next Friday the 13th I'll get a full size! I also liked Larceny, it's the only pink I have that's not hot or pale, just pink. I'm pretty indifferent to the rest of the colors. I tried the Feliner, and it was just an almost matte blue purple, nothing about it was screaming "unique". I might use it once or twice. I didn't like the Glow Powder either- I don't like anything that's supposed to make your face "glow", it just makes my skin look shiny to me and I absolutely hate that. I'm sure it works for a lot of people, but I'm not one of them. I tried the Brow Beaters next. I wasn't really sure what they were supposed to do except make your eyebrows look better. When I used it, my eyebrows looked huge and bushy. On the website it says it stays in place, and it does- I had a really hard time getting it all off. This is something I doubt I'd ever try again. If anyone has tips on how to make them work better, I'd be glad to hear it. So overall, Meow Cosmetics was just ok. I wasn't expecting a lot based off of their shadow pictures on their website, and they pretty much met those expectations, with the exception of Tutankhamun, Spell, and Larceny, which were all really gorgeous. I doubt I'll place sample orders in the future, but I could go for a full size Spell. Today I used only Fyrinnae's "Equality" for my eyes. I absolutely love this color, it seems so sophisticated. It reminds me of the champagne candies I used to secretly devour when I worked at Fannie May. Pardon my eyeliner, I hadn't fixed it all day. I'm off to go have an X-Files and Supernatural marathon in my basement. I may be a girly girl but I have my nerdy loves. 8D

Green/Yellow EOTD, Neutrogena!

I am so infatuated with Fyrinnae's "Banana Mochi" that I used it in a look today, along with Aromaleigh's "Googoo Muck". Only two colors, but I really liked the look. It reminded me of the jungle, like tropical fruit, or lizards. XD Here's another picture. I swear it looked more blended then this picture makes it seem, haha. I also want to share my looooove of Neutrogena. Ever since I used their foamy stress-free face wash, I decided to only buy that brand of face wash. After the stress-free cleanser, I got their Deep Clean cream cleanser. I love Neutrogena so much, it is the only face wash I've ever used that makes a difference. Clean and Clear did NOT tame my skin at all :( I just got the Neutrogena pink grapefruit scented face cleanser! It smells delicious, I love how my face smells after I use it. It's pink! If anyone else has great face products, I'd love to know. I also use the Biore pore cleansing strips, and of course every girl needs their St. Ives apricot scrub and their Queen Helene mint masque. Now I'm off to place small Aromaleigh order. I need the Valentine's Day and Holiday Blast colors! Edit: The new matte collection is on the website but not yet available for ordering, so I'm waiting before I buy anything else.

Fyrinnae Review!

I'm so excited for my first review! I ordered from Fyrinnae Cosmetics, and I'm going to tell you right now this is a rave review! I am so impressed with their products. I am ordering a full size of all three non-eyeshadow items. This is a big deal, I have never ordered a single full size thing! So here we go! It came like an order from any other company, first class mail, filled with bubble wrap. There was also a hand-written "Than You" on the invoice, which I always appreciate. I adore buying from small companies because I feel like they care about all their customers. The actual products were in a cardboard tube, and wrapped with black paper. Then it was wrapped in another layer of cute zebra paper! Here is everything I ordered- 5 eyeshadow samples (they sent a free one also), a Lip Lustre in Lollipop-Pop, their Pixie Epoxy, and the Velvet Gel Silica Primer. Here are my swatches. From top to bottom: Kuroneko, Samhain Spirits (my free sample), Equality, Forbidden Lover, Banana Mochi, Immortality. I have to say I'm in love with Equality, Banana Mochi, and Immortality. I LOVE the rainbow sparkle in Equality and Immortality, and Banana Mochi is the shade of yellow I've been trying to hunt down for a while. I am also in love with the Lip Lustre! I can NEVER find the exact right shade of pink lip gloss that I want. Wet and Wild has many close ones, but they all smell like cotton candy or other food junk :/ I don't like food smells in my gloss. This doesn't really have a scent. It is my perfect bright pink, and if you get just the right light it has a light purple shine. It's so pretty, I actually got compliments on it. That's a first for any gloss I've ever used. I'm totally getting a full size. Here is without flash and with. I think the flash picture gets the color just right. I am also MAJORLY psyched about how awesome the Pixie Epoxy is. It's designed to keep your sparkles and shimmers to stay on better, but it also makes your colors about 5 billion times better. Here is the best picture I got (sorry it's kind of yellow). I will also be ordering a full size of this. The sample looks so small, I thought I'd get maybe 3 uses out of it, but you only need the TINIEST amount to cover your lids. I also love the silica gel primer, and I'll be getting a full size of that too. I have somewhat oily skin, and I have to reapply my powder about every 3 hours. I used this today and I only had to reapply powder twice. I'm very satisfied, having a shiny face is the thing I hate most, it makes me feel greasy and self-concious. Well, I think that wraps it up. I will definitely be ordering again, and I would recommend all the products I got! My next review will be on Meow Cosmetics, and I need to place a new order somewhere else tomorrow. I just have to decide where from!

Tomorrow, pinky promise

Due to some family problems I didn't have time to review Fyrinnae today. Tomorrow before and after work I'll get everything done so you guys can see how majorly impressed I am with these products. :)

Fyrinnae got here!

Hi everyone, my Fyrinnae order arrived today! It looks amazing, I already tried out the lip gloss and I'm going to order a full tube. I'll start my review tomorrow.

Purple EOTD, Morgana Minerals

Here was my look today. I felt mellow, so I wanted to do a soft purple. What I used: Reasonable Insanity, by The She Space (lid) London Dungeon by Aromaleigh (eyeliner) Revlon Matte eyeliner in Very Violet (waterline) I also tried using some purple mascara. The only kind I have is from the Flirt! brand, which I believe is only available at Kohls. I decided to grab a few of their colored mascaras back in the day, and now I remembered why I never used them. The color does not show up at all. I have such a lopsided smile sometimes! I don't know why I haven't become obsessed with Reasonable Insanity until now. It's this absolutely gorgeous purple, and it shines blue. When the light hits it the right way it also has a different tone of purple, which I thought you could see well in the second picture. I'll probably be using it a lot more frequently. Right now I'm eagerly awaiting Morgana Minerals' new collection. It has a pirate theme and is called Shimmer Me Timbers, how cute! I've never placed an order there, but it is one of the many companies I still am excited to try. The pictures aren't up yet but hopefully they will be soon. I'm also my Fyrinnae colors to arrive sometime this week. I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. :)

Blue Green EOTD

I'm in a pretty bad mood right now. I took stupid photography so I could have a class with my friend. Now it's the class I struggle with the most. It's the only class I don't have an A in, so it's bringing down my GPA besides pissing me off. We have a powerpoint presentation due this Friday, worth 200 points. I spent 3 hours working on it yesterday. I went to work on it again today and it's just gone My mom works with computers and she couldn't even figure out why it disappeared. It just did. So now I have to redo everything and I'm really frustrated. Add that to the fact I got sent home early today from work, I'm not getting enough hours, and my friend spent an hour text lecturing me about how irresponsible I am, it's really, really not a good day. Here was my EOTD from yesterday. I feel like I've seen something similar to this before, possibly on Medusa's Makeup. I checked the site and I didn't see it though, so maybe not. What I used: Elves Rule, by The She Space (inner lid) Check Me Out, by Pure Luxe (outer lid) Awakening, by Pure Luxe (inner v) Smurfberry Blast, by The She Space (lower lash line) Sorry I look so creeptastic in these pictures >_< Up close and personal I couldn't decide what shade of blue green to use, so I was swatching my hand. It made me realize I have waaay too many blue greens. :P

Simple EOTD, Friday the 13th at Meow

I'm still feeling stuffy and cold-ish from yesterday, so today I didn't bother doing my hair, and I did a simple look with my makeup. I actually really love it, I think it's interesting without being busy. What I used: Girl Genius, by The She Space (lid) London Dungeon, by Aromaleigh (as eyeliner) Luminous, by Pure Luxe (lower lash line) Rimmel London MAXX Lash mascara Here's what it looks like up close. I'm in love with London Dungeon as the eyeliner. It's a nice dark color, but since it's purple and not plain black, I think it's prettier. I also am obsessed with Girl Genius, I've been very into light light pinks lately. This was the first time I ever tried Luminous, it's so light you can barely see it in the picture. I applied it dry though, so I think I should try it wet. My Fyrinnae order has just been shipped out, so it should be here in a couple days. I also ordered some samples from Meow Cosmetics tonight. I got around 12 eyeshadow samples, and some "brow beater" samples. I'm not sure exactly how those are supposed to work, but I guess I'll find out. Most of the colors I got were from the Friday the 13th collection, and the Egyptian Treasures collection. I only ordered a few from their permanent colors, because they seemed pretty generic. And now, of course, as I vowed not to order makeup for two weeks, Aromaleigh has to go and put out an old holiday collection, and prepare to release a new collection of mattes. T_T There goes my next paycheck... Today was my boyfriend's 18th birthday. :3 We went out to Chipotle for dinner, then his parents showed me a bunch of his cute lil baby pictures. We spent the rest of the night watching The Office and cuddling. I am so lucky to have someone who I can share so much love with. I am so happy with life ever since I met Sam, and I really want everyone to be able to feel the same way someday. I'm really glad for you if you already have that. :) Us a month-ish ago. :D Another side note! I just found out about the Winchester Mystery House. How could I not have known about it sooner? I absolutely HAVE to visit. Check out the website. Since tomorrow is a Saturday, hopefully I'll have time to put together a more interesting look!

Heavenly Natural Beauty swatches

I'm sick! I spent my entire day playing Pet Society on Facebook instead of completing the difficult tasks of showering, getting dressed, and putting on makeup. I didn't want to leave my blog empty today though, so I decided to do some swatches. I rarely see anything about Heavenly Natural Beauty, so I decided to swatch my favorite colors of theirs. From left to right: SangReal, Ransom, Pixie, Dazzel Linda, Bambie, Panic, Diva Since I'm newer to the online makeup industry, there are still many companies I have yet to order from. I have also never ordered any pigments from TKB. I know HNB repackages some of their colors, but I don't know which. If anyone knows if any of these colors are repackaged from TKB, I'd love to know which. I'm guessing Panic and Diva, since I've seen so many almost identical colors. One thing I would like to see changed about websites who repackage as well as making their own colors is a listing somewhere of which colors are repackaged, or a notification on the color's page. I'm all for honesty, but I think without stating which colors are repackaged, you're really not going the extra mile to be true to your customers. Besides that, I wonder why I haven't seen HNB reviewed more, or used in more looks. The colors that are obviously created by the owner are gorgeous, and it surprises me I don't see them pop up more often in blogs. I plan on ordering more colors from them soon. I hope everyone is feeling well, cold season is beginning! Keep that sanitizer loaded and ready (I use Bath & Body Works Cumcumber Melon) :)

Friday the 13th, Sneaky Nails

Since I was wearing a bright green shirt yesterday, I kept my eye makeup very simple. Unfortunately, the pictures didn't turn out very well, but I hope you can get an idea of the look. What I Used: Circle the Moon, by The She Space Jazzy, by Pure Luxe as my liner Rimmel London MAXX Lash Mascara Eyehance! Best I could get, sorry guys :/ Circle the Moon is great, I love it. It's extremely glittery, which made me worry when I swatched it, but it's so classy on the eyes. TSS Pixie Paradise is almost the same color, but it has a different shade of purple as the undertone. Both are gorgeous. Jazzy is also one of my favorite colors EVER. it's a purple blue with all this pink glitter, it's very dramatic and pretty. Last night as I was painting my toes, I decided I wanted a bright blue, so I resorted to using Sinful Colors Drugstore crap. It was a mistake. It took SO LONG to dry. Then after it finally seemed to have finished, I made the mistake of putting my moccasins on. When I took them off most of the polish on my big toes were in my shoe instead of on my nails. It just reminded me why I typically use OPI/China Glaze now. Since I was painting my toenails, I decided to go for my nails too. I had to pick a color that hopefully my most devilish of managers wouldn't know I was wearing, so I grabbed OPI's Significant Other Color. It is a VERY sheer purple, very subtle. It has a green shine to it that you can only see when the light hits it a certain way. So it's cute, but hopefully not noticable enough for my managers. ^.^ It's very hard to photograph, so here's a link to Polish Mayhem, the most accurate picture I could find (I adore this blog). It is, however, a lot more sheer than the picture seems. In a few days, it will be Friday the 13th- a special event not only because it's my boyfriend's 18th birthday (I love you Sam!) but because it is the first time I will be ordering Meow Cosmetics. While I'm not very excited over their permanent colors, I do love their Egyptian Treasures collection, and their Friday the 13th collection. The 13th collection is only available for purchase on Friday the 13th's, so I'm going to order some of both of those collections, and a few permanent colors so I can swatch for you guys. I'm still eagerly awaiting my Fyrinnae order too. :)

Peaches EOTD, great prices on OPI and China Glaze!

My eyes were supposed to look like peaches, buy I got a lot of sunset comments. Either way, this is my favorite look so far. What I used: Lemon Lime Brain Freeze, by The She Space Fire and Brimstone, by The She Space OMG, by Pure Luxe Estranged, by Aromaleigh Mascara is Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme I use Covergirl eyeliner in brown for my waterline every day Inner to outer lid: brain freeze, brimstone, omg I hated how I looked in all the pictures I took, so you can just enjoy my eyes. :) Also, I was very excited yesterday to stumble upon two websites that have TONS of China Glaze, OPI, and the Color Club. I've never actually tried Color Club, but from the pictures I've seen on nail polish blogs, they have a lot of cool colors. I plan on ordering later this week or sometime next week from Head2Toe Beauty and 88 Beauty Supply. I was totally drooling over all the polish yesterday, so I'm pumped. Tomorrow I'm going to do my toenails and get some pictures, I just have to decide what color!

Circus EOTD?

I don't know why, but whenever I do purple and yellow eyeshadow together it reminds me of the circus. I think yellow and red would be more fitting, but who knows? I used: Diva, by Heavenly Natural Beauty Lemon Lime Brain Freeze, by The She Space Awakening, by Pure Luxe (bottom lid) Mascara is Voluminous by L'Oreal. There's a billion and one hate videos about it on YouTube, but it's always worked really well for me. Eyehance! (Can you tell I love Cute Overload?) I thought this used gorgeous colors without being too out there. My issue is that I always want to use crazy bright colors, but keep it wearable. I thought I did a good job. In other news, yesterday I went to this store called Cosmo Prof. I was lured in by their claims of OPI and China Glaze. When I got there the saleslady glared at me and didn't say hi, even though my friend and I were the only customers in the whole store. She then proceeded to stand a foot away from me the entire time I was looking at polish, totally lurking. I picked out two fabulous OPI's (Merry Midnight and Happy Anniversary, I think), and one of the new holiday China Glaze colors (a gorgeous sparkling emerald green- ok I just looked it up and it's called Emerald Sparkle. lol how fitting). When I went to the counter to pay, she asked for my student I.D. I said I didn't have it with me. Then she asked for my license. I showed her, and she got all pissy and said you couldn't shop there unless you had a cosmetology license. Thanks for telling me AFTER I spent 15 minutes in there and getting all excited T_T Luckily I was able to get Merry Midnight at the mall. I'll have pictures up soon. Now I'm off to browse the OPI and China Glaze websites...

Fyrinnae

I just places my first order from Fyrinnae, I'm so excited! Teehee. I ordered a sample of the pixie epoxy, the velvet silica gel primer, a lip lustre in Lollipop-Pop, and 5 eyeshadow samples. I was pleased they had all the non-eyeshadow products available for sampling, as I never want to pay full price for something like that without trying. I'm really excited for the lip lustre- lots of companies make their own lipstick, but I'm going to have to be really coereced into buying any, as I'm a gloss girl. This seems like a good product to branch away from my typical gloss. I'll do swatches and a review when they get here! And hopefully I'll have my EOTD up later. :)

A Piece of Me in November!

I thought this was really cute, so I decided to participate. :) This month.... I like: everything cozy! Fleece blankets and jackets, my fuzzy boots, my fuzzy moccasins, my electric blanket... warmth. :3 I don't like: rap. Normally I listen to it as much as every other teenager but it's really annoying to me right now. I want you to know: that I am going to hopefully get some new OPI and China Glaze colors this weekend. Splurge! I've planned: to get my scholarship stuff done for Texas A&M, and hopefully I'll be getting my acceptance letter soon. I want to say to someone special: Rachel, I think it's adorable how you actually read my blog. I love you best buddy :) Moving on! I've been feeling pretty lazy this week, so today I just did some quick eyeliner. I used Heavenly Natural Beauty's Pixie pigment. It's one of my favorite colors ever, it's such a beautiful blue. Shiny forehead. T_T oh flash. Eye close-up! Today when I was at Walgreens I stopped to check out the makeup section. I haven't bought any drugstore makeup in a long while, and I was not impressed with what I saw today. Great mineral makeup companies really spoil me. :) I did see some Sinful Colors nail polish that I liked, but I didn't go for it since I'm going on a nail polish excursion this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to place an order with one of the companies I want to try, I just have to decide which one!

Companies I Want to Try

Detrivore Evil Shades Sassy Minerals Fyrinnae Stardust Stargazer MAC/SEPHORA/LUSH- we don't have Sephora or a Lush store anywhere close to here. I'm going to ask for some bath bombs and gift sets for Christmas. TKB- I want to get a nice huge sample for cheap :D Morgana Minerals Meow Cosmetics That's all for now, but I'm sure the list will grow. If anyone has any companies they recommend, let me know!

Blue Mascara & Nail Polish Needs

All the sports teams at school have been doing really great, so the admins decided to have a school color day. I was going crazy doing blues and whites (gotta love all my She Space blues!) when I got out something I haven't used in a long time. Icing, the brand owned by the same company as Claire's, has a great makeup section, at least at the mall here. I have some of their teriffic bright eyeshadow, glitters, totally neon nail polish, and blue mascara! I absolutely and completely love the blue mascara. Unlike other colored mascaras, it actually shows up, and looks great without being overbearing. The brush isn't the greatest, so what I normally do is apply some of the eyelash primer part of the Maybelline XXL mascara, then put the blue on top. Here's a picture! Sorry my photos aren't the greatest, I don't have a really nice fancy camera or anything. But I thought this on really showed the color well. Next time I go to the mall I want to hop over to Icing and get some more of their vibrant shadows and nail polish. I also want to go to Trade Secret to get some more OPI... I work at Arby's, and employees aren't allowed to wear nail polish since it might chip and get into the food. This rule was made clear to me RIGHT after I bought a ton of OPI and China Glaze. I'll just have to keep my color on my toes for now. T_T I really want to try China Glaze's "Fortune Teller". They actually had it at Sally's Beauty here, but it's all sold out. I also want to try Atlantis, but they didn't have it. I don't know how much new stuff they actually bring into the store. One brand of polish I hate is Sally Hansen. I got the most gorgeous shade of pink from Target. It reminds me of the 90's. I've only used it once because it takes, no joke, almost 40 minutes to fully dry. It's ridiculous. I just checked on their website to grab a picture of it (the shade is "Flamingo") but the picture they show is a lighter pink, when this is actually a kick-ass bold pinky orange. Does anyone use Sally Hansen and have this same problem? This is OPI's "I'm Not Really A Waitress". My favorite color of all time! I'm wearing their "Cajun Shrimp" on my toesies right now. It's an orangey pink that actually dries! Hope everyone is having more nail polish luck than me! :)

First post! Autumn brown look.

Hi everyone! This is my first post, and I'm pretty excited to be a part of the makeup blogging community. Just to begin I'd like to point something out- while I have around 90 samples, they are all from just 4 companies. I have purchased once from Aromaleigh, once from Heavenly Natural Beauty, and many many times from The She Space and Pure Luxe. I've had fast shipping, great prices, and excellent customer service from all of them. But now that I've started reading some other blogs, I realized there are a lot of great companies I'd like to try! So hopefully I'll order and review from many other places soon. I'd also like to say that I don't just do mineral makeup. If it is a good price and it looks cute, I'll get it. Anyway. Since it's fall, I decided to do a brown look today. I used: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Mascara (Side note- I heard they're discontinuing Max Factor in the United States? That sucks!) "Bambie" from Heavenly Natural Beauty "Nutmeg" from Pure Luxe (This is my favorite color, by the way. It's the perfect shade of brown and gives you a look that is natural but not boring.) "Chocolate Lover Gone Bad" from The She Space "Tarnish" from Aromaleigh I also have been using the Heavenly Naturals eyeshadow primer. It seems to work pretty well for me, but I'd like to try a different primer to compare. If anyone has a recommendation, let me know. I started light with Bambie, then used Nutmeg for the middle, and Chocolate Lover for the ends of my lids. I used Tarnish on my bottom lids. The finished result! I usually get complements on my eye makeup, but I had a TON of people notice it today. I was pretty happy. :3 I used four colors, which is actually more than normal. I like to do looks that are vibrant or simple, usually only with 2 colors, sometimes three. It's always good to branch out though! Side comments about Lancome A friend of my mom wears all Lancome makeup, a brand I've always wanted to try, but I don't want to pay high prices for makeup. This is why I only order samples (and also because I rarely wear the same color more than a few times). She had an entire bagful of products she has never used, so she gave them to me and my mom. I am in love with their Juicy Tube glosses! They small amazing, and even the ones that look darker work well on my lips (I normally only wear bright pinks). At $18 a tube, it's what I normally call too pricey, but since they look and smell so great, and moisturize my lips like no other, I'd recommend them to anyone. Spring Fling is my favorite. In the next few weeks I hope to share my reviews on drugstore products, as well as independent company products. I also have a lot of ground to cover with companies that are new to me. Suggestions are welcome. :) -Heather
