L.A. Colors palettes

I've recently found that the Dollar General as well as this cheapy store in the mall carry L.A. Colors palettes. For only $1.50-$2 each, and great pigmentation, I think these are fantastic! I may not have Sleek but at least these make me feel somewhat better ;] Tease Palette Chromatic Palette Fiesta Palette The first two are more pigmented than they look, the sun was setting as I swatched so the colors aren't as bright. I took these pictures with the camera I got for my birthday! I had my own camera already, but it was a total POS and pretty old, probably 5 or 6 years at least. I always used my mom's instead because I liked it so much, so for my birthday my parents got me a newer version of my mom's camera. :D The other beauty products I got were the new Sally Hansens I wanted- Lagoon, Sea and Be Seen, and HIDDEN FUCKING TREASURE! I think my dad managed to find the last one in the whole damn town, they're gone everywhere. I spent some time with my family, friends, and boyfriend and had a really lovely day. Thanks you all so much for the birthday wishes, it meant a lot to me. I have many Hi Fi and Morgana swatches to do, as well as my Archetype review which I have somehow managed to put off for months... expect those soon! I also got a Twitter, you can follow me @ eyeconicmakeup. I really like Twitter, I enjoy talking to you ladies about makeup and other things as well. :)

Fire themed EOTD

Silhouette Screams has been doing some fire themed looks, so I decided to do one the other day. All colors are from the L.A. Colors Fiesta palette, except the crease color which is Twinkling Cherrine by Morgana Minerals. Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara and Rimmel black eyeliner in the waterline.

Some simple EOTD's

Hello ladies! I hope you're having a super weekend. I worked a 6.5 hour shift at the old Arby's today, so my feet hurt. I'm leaving soon to go see Alice in Wonderland with my boyfriend and some friends. In other news, Rachel sent me the Sleek Acid palette! OMG you can't even imagine how insane some of the colors are until you see them irl. I am so excited to get this as it's not available (to my knowledge) in the US. Swatches soon, thank you so much Rachel! I also have some new Fyrinnae and Detrivore swatches to share, as well as my Stardust review, and my swatches of all my NYX products! Gonna be a busy blogging week :P Here are some looks I've done over the week. I didn't give any of them their own post because they were pretty quick and sample. Note, I am apparently so uncreative I realized all these looks were inspired by other posters! At this point I can't remember every product I used, but I do have all the eyeshadows for each look. I'll give you what I can recall! All of these use Revlon ColorStay underye concealer, Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Finisher, Covergirl eyeliner on the waterline in brown black, and Max Faxtor 2000 Calorie Extreme mascara (my HG mascara... I'm running out, damn Max Factor) What I used: some white jane color (inner lid) Royal Kiss, by Stardust (center lid) Pure Femme, by Stardust (outer lid) Lying Mirrors, by The She Space (crease) A Bit Naughty, by The She Space (under waterline) Honeysuckle by L.A. Colors (highlight) mark blush in After Glo Pretty unimpressive, and similar to a lot of old looks. The purples I chose were all too similar. This was my inspiration, just because of the white on the inner lid. Hers turned out beautiful vibrant though, and mine was dull. Bleh. What I used: Coney Island, by Aromaleigh (lid) Isolde, by Morgana Minerals (crease- I have been using this for creases a lot lately) Lewd, by Detrivore (highlight) Rimmel Mousse Blush in Frozen Cherry Does this not totally remind you of a caramel apple? I actually like this look quite a bit, it was visually interesting (to me at least), and also simple and quick. Not as good as the original though! What I used: Harken, by Morgana Minerals (lid) She Creature, by Morgana (crease) Coraline, by Morgana (highlight) Ouch looking at that last picture I see a did a pretty bad job applying the color... I was rushed! I keep being almost late for work cus I'd rather play with makeup. This looked better IRl, I only used a little of Coraline and blended it all around so it would be pale-ish. I used the POS for this so everything looks more orange/yellow than it actually is. Also, I'm wearing my uniform. Also, I hate showing pictures when my hair is up, except, apparently, when I'm glancing down. I like all those ones. :P When I saw this look of Phyrra's this morning, I wanted to do a similar color scheme. I think that's everything for now, I have to touch up my makeup really quick before Alice! I am seeing it in 2D, because I think 3D is a gimmick and I try to avoid it and just see the 2D versions of things. Also because this movie was not "made" in 3D, if you understand me, they just kind of added crap in after it was done, so apparently the 3D is pretty lame. I don't care cus it's saving me $2 not see it that way. I'll let you know what I think!

MAIL HAUL!

I got 4 packages in the mail today! From Avon/mark Aromaleigh High Voltage Cosmetics and Cherry Culture! These pictures are pretty lame colorwise, everything looks a lot brighter irl. The L.A. Colors due, though, actually looks like that, definitely NOT like the picture on the Cherry Culture site *sigh* Hmm... nope. I also wanted to show you my nails, using Wet N Wild's "Rain Check" which I got for 99 cents :) I used a coat of CG's Matte Magic on top. It's grey, it's blue! I love it! PS, I know the yellow is dirty! It's not my carpet, but the towel I keep under my makeup area to try and stop ruining the carpet ;] I was going to take pictures of my whole Hello Kitty collection and post it, but I decided I'm going to do a Hello Kitty of the Day instead! I don't think showcasing some of my weirder things individually will make me look like any less of a loony, but it'll be more fun! Here are some knee socks my friend Emily just picked me up. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can wear them with a cute little skirt! I hope everyone's week is going well.

Anniversary & EOTD

Thursday night was my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. We went out to this amazing Japanese restaurant, and I got a chance to wear a dress! My look for the night was quick and simple, and I did it after seeing this post on the Painted Princess blog. I used NARS Silent Night for the gold, and some Jane stuff as the black, with L.A. Colors shimmering eyeshadow in Honeysuckle as the highlight. I am in looove with Honeysuckle. When I apply it, it blends into my skin tone enough that you can see some shimmer, but no real color, so it's perfect highlight. Today I wanted to use colors I had never tried before. Sadly, it's a nasty day out and the lighting is terrible, so the pictures aren't the best. What I used: NYX Ultra Pearl Mania pigment in Jade (inner lid) Atomic, from the Aromaleigh Rocks! collection (center lid) Nymphette, by Evil Shades (outer lid) Samhain Spirits, by Fyrinnae (under waterline) Broken Road, by Hi Fi (crease) Honeysuckle by L.A. Colors (highlight) Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara Covergirl eyeliner in brown black (waterline) Rimmel Mousse Blush in Frozen Cherry (this stuff is amazing, even someone who sucks at blush as much as I do can't mess it up) Jelly Pong Pong lib sorbet in Blood Orange Ugly wallpaper! My lips look the same in all my pictures no matter what I do to them >:[ They look different IRL, I swear! I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend.
