EOTD using Meow Cosmetics

Overall I really like the look I did today, although it was disappointing how my outer lid color ended up looking so similar to my crease color. What I used: Mornings of Gold, by Hi Fi (highlight) Kiwi, from Meow's Caribbean collection (inner lid) Mantis, from Meow's Lost Rainforest collection (outer lid) Ocean Spray, from Meow's Caribbean collection (crease) MAC Liquidlast Liner in Greenplay I also bought the new Maybelline One By One mascara yesterday, since my tube of Falsies is getting kind of gross. I accidentally grabbed the waterproof (I really don't like waterproof mascaras), so my judgment is on that, but I like it. It's not something to write home about, but it's pretty good. I like most mascaras that have the rubber bristles. I also was lucky enough to find, amongst a big pile of makeup that had fallen off the shelves at Ulta, one of the Physician's Formula blushes with the hearts on it! I was so happy ^_^ The reason I had gone in the first place was to get some foundation for my job interview at Macy's this Saturday. I've never worn foundation, just tinted moisturizer, which lately hasn't seemed like enough. I got the new Covergirl Natureluxe foundation in the shade 310, which is a perfect match for my skintone. I've only used it today so far, but I absolutely love it. It smells really good too. Here's a review of it from one of my favorite blogs, Noveau Cheap. And here's a picture of me and my kitty :) She's not shy anymore, she's already become the world's cuddliest cat. Sadly, she has a kitty cold, and keeps sneezing and getting snot all over me and the keyboard T_T I get to try and give her antibiotics later, can't wait...

Drugstore Favorites, part 2: bright eyeliner

For my next "I'm on a low buy so I need to rediscover great products I already have" post, I thought I'd focus on bright liners! I need to take a picture of my eyeliner collection someday, it is ridiculous. If I had to guess at how many I own, I'd say around 35. So, here are my favorite ones, available at Walgreens / CVS / WalMart, etc. First, we have the relatively new Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliners. Therese go for about $8 or $9. I have the shades Blue Bloom and Green Glow. The staying power is good on the lids, not so great for waterline. The Milani Infinite liquid liners go for about $6, and come in lots of cool colors. I have Infinite, the cobalt blue, and Endless, a purple. Anyone who has these can attest to the fact that the things DO NOT budge. I've slept in them, and they've stayed mostly intact. The last one's I'm going to show you today are part of the shimmer strips collection by Physician's Formula. They are cream liners, and I bought the set for green eyes. I think these are around $10-11, but I got mine when they were 40% off at CVS :) The neat thing about these is that you can stack them together.I love the black, it's very opaque and has little sparklies in it too. Do you have any of these liners? Which drugstore liners are your favorites? WHICH STAY ON THE WATERLINE? I can never find ones that will stay well on my waterline, or even show up very well.

Summer/Ocean LOTD

I've been seeing so many gorgeous summery, oceany looks lately that I decided to do one as well. This is probably my favorite look so far! I feel like everything I've tried in the last couple weeks has turned out fabulous; I think I'm really improving with my makeup application. What I used: UDPP Italian Ice, by Aromaleigh (inner lid) Graffiti, by Urban Decay (center lid) Bang-Up, by Concrete Minerals (outer lid) Abyss, by Detrivore (teeny bit in outer corners) some silver L'Oreal color in crease Marigold, by Aromaleigh (highlight) Covergirl Liquiline blast eyeliners on lower lid Rimmel liner on waterline Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara Hard Candy Sheer Envy face primer Revlon PhotoReady translucent finishing powder Physician's Formula Rx Undereye concealer Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in Coral Shimmer Glamour Doll glamour gloss in Posh Life Tart blush by Sassy Minerals The pictures don't do it justice, it was so gorgeous in person. Can I say that I am in LOVE with the Covergirl liquiline blast eyeliners? They glide on so perfectly, and these two colors are awesome. I hope they come out with a ton of cool new colors. Would you guys be interested in Etsy bath/body reviews? Ever since Haus of Gloi frenzy started, I've been really interested in purchasing my body products on Etsy. I just got my order yesterday from One Hand Washes the Other, and I'll do a review if anyone is interested. There are other bath and body companies I plan on ordering from as well, so please let me know if this is something you would like to see on my blog! Happy Saturday ladies!

Drugstore Hunting

Remember how a while ago I said drugstore makeup has been really boring and disappoing to me lately? There's some things out now that I actually want! Unfortunately, I've been checking Walmart, Target, Meijer, Walgreens, and CVS for some of these items, but haven't found any of them so far! Here's what I'm lemming: The palettes from the Maybelline Salsa Sun collection (images from A Blonde Obsession) I've also been searching high and low for the Revlon Scents of Summer polishes, but I can't find them anywhere! The thought of a scented polish does not sound appealing to me, but I really would love the colors Beach and Ocean Breeze. Body and Soul has some swatches here. I think this elf blush/highlighter thingy in shade Gotta Glow (as seen on Unnecessary Drama) looks really nice. And you know it's cheap, since it's elf. I also saw a swatch of a taupe CoverGirl shadow, but now I cant find the blog or remember the shadow name! The "Taupes You Can't Have" posts by Pink Sith have made me love taupe shadows, so I'm on the lookout for cheap taupes I CAN have. I'm looking on the CG website right now, and I'm going to assume it's the one called Tapestry Taupe. Drugstores can't give me my brights, but maybe I can find some nice neutrals. Have you found any of these babies anywhere yet? I think Rite Aid is where everyone's getting them, but we don't have one here. Any drugstore items you're currently craving? And some exciting news, a Sephora is opening up where I live! It should be completed about 2 months before I move away, so hopefully I'll have enough time to stock up on everything before I leave ;]
