Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer giveaway!
Good news everyone!
After reading my last post, Emily of Concrete Minerals generously offered to give one of my readers a FREE tin of the Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer!
If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that this is my primer of choice, and what I use every day. I know Urban Decay Primer Potion is a holy grail item for many people, but having used that as well, I can say that for me personally the Concrete Minerals primer can totally hold it's own against UDPP. For me it works just as well, if not better, and since it's about half the price, it's what I'll continue to use! Here's my beat-up (AKA well-loved) tin.
I thought I'd show you a few swatches- a glittery loose shadow (Fyrinnae's "Lemming"), a pressed shimmery shadow (NYX's "Dune"), and a matte loose shadow (Aromaleigh's "Supermurgatroid"). On the left are the shadows without primer, and on the right they are over the Electric Eye Primer.
Now that you're properly convinced, here's how to enter: the only thing I ask is that you leave a comment with your e-mail address, and an idea (or a few) of what I should name my new kitty! Here's a picture of her:
She won't stop hiding right now, so this is the best I could do. ^_^ That's it! The giveaway will close on the 18th, and I will announce the winner on the 19th. This is open internationally! Good luck everyone, and thanks for reading!

EOTD with Aromaleigh Hi-Fi Retro Mattes
Whenever I use AL samples I just get bummed out knowing that when I run out, that is IT sir!
The other day Mindy did an awesome look using her Aromaleigh matte shadows, and it inspired me to play around with some of mine today. I just got my MAC Wonder Woman stuff delivered today, and it inspired my look a little bit. The black liner against the yellow shadow reminded me a little bit of comic books, and I used a sheer red gloss to go with it, although it shows up looking pink in the pictures. I'm going to do a full list of products I used, for once!
What I used:
Eyes-
Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer
Aromaleigh's "Real Gone" on lid
Aromaleigh's "Smokin'" in crease
High Voltage's "Feel The Heat" to highlight
Maybelline "The Falsies" mascara
InColor (aka Jordana) FabuLiner in black
Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in "Zero"
Face-
Hard Candy's Sheer Envy Primer
Jane Be Pure Mineral Skin Perfecting Sheer Foundation
Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
Benefit's Erase Paste (under eyes)
Revlon PhotoReady Powder (don't really like this much)
Physician's Formula Mineral Glow Pearls (not a fan of this either)
Cheeks and Lips-
MAC blush in "Mighty Aphrodite"
elf blush in "Gotta Glow"
Urban Decay Ultraglide lipgloss in "Heat"
You can ignore the fact that I got gloss on my teeth...
It's been about 10 hours and my eyeshadow still looks awesome. I credit this partially to Concrete Mineral's awesome eye primer, and partly to the staying power of these shadows. I really love how the Mighty Aphrodite blush looks on me- I think it looks really natural, which is funny because I naturally flush a really bright pink.
To wrap it up I want to say hi to my new followers! Thanks for stopping by ^_^ I would LOVE to do a giveaway to celebrate +350, but until I find a job I really can't afford to do so. Hopefully I can get one soon so I can do a fun giveaway (and go off my own no-buy, bleh).

Some Eye(brows) of the Days
You might have noticed it's been almost a month since I've posted an EOTD. Since I started blogging I got a little self conscious about my eyebrows, because I'd never waxed or plucked them or anything. So finally about a month ago, I decided to pluck them a little bit. I'm pretty sure it's impossible not to mess up your brows the first time you pluck, because you really don't know when to stop. I didn't pluck enough at first, then I way overplucked. I kind of suck at filling in my brows, when I even bother to try, so that's why they will probably look different for every EOTD I do until I figure out what works for my face. They don't look too bad anymore, and I'm sure no one is paying attention to my eyebrows IRL, so it's really not a big deal.
This EOTD is from a couple weeks ago. The lid color is Hi Fi's "Fear the Nobodies", with some gold glitter liner from Collection 2000.
A few days ago I did my most overused color combo of yellow and green. The chartreuse is Juvenile by Concrete Minerals, the green is Parrot Green by Barry M, and the purple is Nightshade by Evil Shades. These were all nearly-matte colors, so they don't look as blended in the pictures are they were IRL.
I'll end this post with a couple music videos by my favorite band, Foxy Shazam, because I'm seeing them live on Friday and I'm really excited! :D

Concrete Minerals & Evil Shades swatches
I did the blogger/reviewer special to get some new Concrete Minerals shades. It says they'll send you four samples (which are huge, btw), and they sent me an extra one that I didn't order, Vegas. I swatched everything today over Concrete Minerals eye primer, which I think I'm going to start doing regularly instead of swatching over bare skin. I don't want to swatch over Pixie Epoxy, because not everyone uses that every day, but I'm pretty confident if you wear makeup and read this blog, you use an eyeshadow primer every day.
From left to right: Wicked, Prude, Detox, Vegas, Lolita
Wicked has some a great blue sheen to it. Prude is a gorgeous, pale pale pink. Detox is the perfect mint I've been looking for, Vegas is my new favorite gold, and Lolita is a purply taupe that will be great for smokey eyes. Safe to say I am in love with all these colors! Next up is Evil Shades.
From left to right: Sinister, Acolyte, Reondite, Phyrra's Fantasy, Nightshade, Chusi, Double Barrel, Zombie
I adore Phyrra's Fantasy, it's a super gorgeous raspberry pink-red. I also love Double Barrel, and ESPECIALLY Zombie, which I have nothing like. Nightshade and Chusi are almost matte, so they are kind of chalky. I don't know why I even bother to buy purples at this point, I'm pretty sure I have every variation you could ever imagine, and they're all starting to look the same.
Now I'm off to watch some scary movies with my fantastic boyfriend, I hope everyone's day is as fun as mine's going to be :)

I'm back! EOTD's from this last week
Hey everyone! I'm back from St Louis, and my family got a new computer so I can finally blog again, thank goodness. I'm still thinking I'd like my own laptop, though. I have contacted the giveaway winners and gotten their addresses. Thanks to everyone who entered!
Here are some looks I did last week, I'll try my best to remember what shadows I used.

LADY GAGA concert look with the Sleek Acid Palette

The night I saw Lady Gaga was probably the best night of my life. I don't know if you know this, but I WORSHIP her. It was amazing to see her live. So many people were dressed up in the craziest, awesomest Lady Gaga costumes you could ever imagine. The Westboro Baptist Church was there before I got there. Regardless of your beliefs, I think we can all agree they are horrible people. Even though they decided to bring that hate, all of us little monsters had so much love for each other, it was so unifying. Honestly, if you can't accept other people's differences, fuck you :) I also liked the opening band, Semi Precious Weapons. I guess they are considered glam rock? I don't know, but I'm gonna order the cd off of Amazon.
I have tons of swatches to do for you guys, a review, and I have to tell you all about my very first Sephora experience. Thanks for sticking with me while the computer was busted! See you tomorrow ;]

Matte EOTD
Today I thought I'd try out a few colors that I've never used, and do a matte look. I was glad the few matte shades I have were orange/red/maroon types, because I really wanted to use a maroon color today.
What I used:
Concrete Minerals eyeshadow primer
Cat's Pajamas, by Aromaleigh (inner lid)
Train Wreck, by Aromaleigh (outer lid)
Nymph, by Detrivore (crease)
Sand, by Aromaleigh (highlight)
Maybelline Falses Mascara
UD Liner in Lucky (upper lid)
Rimmel black liner
L'Oreal HiP taupe-colored cream crayon (below waterline)
NYC blush stick in Big Apple Blush (love this!)
mark glow baby glow luxe gloss in Lucky
I'm not going to list face products I use anymore because it's boring. I feel like I had a bunch of other stuff I wanted to say, but I can't remember any of it now, so I guess I'll just edit this if I do!
Edit: Ok, one already. I deleted my Twitter, it very quickly lost it's appeal for me. Sorry ladies!

Summer/Ocean LOTD
I've been seeing so many gorgeous summery, oceany looks lately that I decided to do one as well. This is probably my favorite look so far! I feel like everything I've tried in the last couple weeks has turned out fabulous; I think I'm really improving with my makeup application.
What I used:
UDPP
Italian Ice, by Aromaleigh (inner lid)
Graffiti, by Urban Decay (center lid)
Bang-Up, by Concrete Minerals (outer lid)
Abyss, by Detrivore (teeny bit in outer corners)
some silver L'Oreal color in crease
Marigold, by Aromaleigh (highlight)
Covergirl Liquiline blast eyeliners on lower lid
Rimmel liner on waterline
Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara
Hard Candy Sheer Envy face primer
Revlon PhotoReady translucent finishing powder
Physician's Formula Rx Undereye concealer
Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in Coral Shimmer
Glamour Doll glamour gloss in Posh Life
Tart blush by Sassy Minerals
The pictures don't do it justice, it was so gorgeous in person. Can I say that I am in LOVE with the Covergirl liquiline blast eyeliners? They glide on so perfectly, and these two colors are awesome. I hope they come out with a ton of cool new colors.
Would you guys be interested in Etsy bath/body reviews? Ever since Haus of Gloi frenzy started, I've been really interested in purchasing my body products on Etsy. I just got my order yesterday from One Hand Washes the Other, and I'll do a review if anyone is interested. There are other bath and body companies I plan on ordering from as well, so please let me know if this is something you would like to see on my blog! Happy Saturday ladies!

Concrete Minerals review
A few weeks ago I placed an order from Concrete Minerals. I've been really lazy about getting a review done, but at least that's given me time to play with my products.
I felt really confident ordering from their Etsy shop, because it just seemed to be NOT repackaged. I know you can't tell until you actually get your product, but the colors didn't seem familiar (Pops collection, anyone?), and they don't have a ton, which made me think that they spent time developing their own unique shades. None of the shades seem repackaged to me, you can feel safe knowing you're getting a unique product! I ordered 7 eyeshadow samples ($1 each), and a primer sample ($3).
Their eyeshadow sample baggies are GIANT. I like that the big size makes it easier for me to not Hulk-rip every bag and ruin it, but it's also harder to get the brush to reach the pigment. I also like how it tells you the exact amount you're getting right on the baggies, along with an ingredients listing.
Left to right, no primer: Hearts, Napalm, Juvenile, Bang-Up, Souljourner, Unity, and Seance.
Some of these colors had shimmers that don't show up without a primer, such as Unity- there are gold sparkles you can't really see on bare skin. Juvenile is a really unique color. It can be either yellow or chartreuse, depending on the lighting. I really like Hearts and Napalm.
I am SO IMPRESSED with the primer! I absolutely adore it. I don't have comparison this-many-hours pictures with it vs. UDPP, but for me, they perform exactly the same. My sample with .1 oz was only $3, UDPP is $17 for .34 oz. A full size of the Concrete Minerals primer is $9 for .35 oz. It is buttery soft, and has some shimmer to it.
Here are some swatches using UDPP and Concrete Minerals primer. The purple shade is CM's Unity, the green is UD's Acid Rain. The left is dry, the middle is using UDPP, and the right is using the CM primer.
If you don't have either, I'd save the money and buy the Concrete Minerals primer.
Overall, I really like this company. One thing that does bother me is how some of the colors look different from their pictures on the website. But they have good prices, (a full size shadow is $6), unique colors, and an awesome primer, so I'll be placing an order again soon!
Have you tried Concrete Minerals? What do you think of it so far?
