Matte green EOTD

I'd been itching to play with mattes for a while, so yesterday I gave it a shot. I was amazed at the staying power of the colors I used, it seems like matte colors last better than their frosty/shimmery/glittery friends. By the time I had them on for about 10 hours, they still looked as bright as they did when I first applied. I had my makeup on for a total of 16 hours, and these really STAYED the whole time. What I used: Concrete Minerals eye primer Slimy, by Detrivore (inner lid) Seaweed/431 by Beauties Factory (outer lid) Banana Taffy, by Suds N Sass (crease) Feel the Heat, by High Voltage (highlight) Jordana Fabuliner in black Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero Maybelline Falsies Mascara Covergirl Liquiline Blast pencil in Green Glow (under waterline) I really loved how the mattes looked. I just ordered a sample set of the Aromaleigh Hi-Fi Mattes collection, so I'm excited to test out those. I'd also like to try out more of the gorgeous mattes from Beauties Factory.

  7. totally love this look! I havent had much experience with mattes (other than just playing around with a few different looks) but I think they look great... Really stands out cos I think we're all so used to people wearing shimmery sparkly eye shadow :)

  9. @KittensMittens: YOU WILL LOVE DETRIVORE. And I know I will love my Al mattes. I already have 3 of them, I think.

    @Glytten: Thank you! :D

    @The Peach: Thanks!

    @Lucy: They are definitely much harder to blend than shimmery colors.

    @Robyn: Aw that's no fun :( I'm about to go back on a low-buy too, I have ordered way too much stuff lately.

    @femputer: Thank you!

    @MissTat: Thanks!

    @SilhouetteScreams: It looks more chartreuse-y in the pictures than it does IRL, it's a light yellow. Slimy turns very chartreuse when applied though.

    @All Made Up: I was surprised at how different it looked than normal shadows, I think it's because you really concentrate on the color and not the glitter or anything.

    @kathyeffingjacobs: thx bby ;]

    @AestheticAnonymous: thank you!

  14. Cute! I love love mattes. I try to use shimmers and stuff, and they're so pretty, but in the end I just prefer mattes on myself. They are so bright and fun, and they stay soooo much better on my oily eyelids. I love my CS 88 Matte Palette, use it all the time. <3
