EOTD: Ethereal Blues
I've been having a ton of makeup fails lately, and it's very frustrating. The last few days I've had to start over at least twice because I didn't like how the look was turning out. I think I need to stick with simpler looks or neutrals for a while. This is something that started out being a smokey dark blue look.
Kind of the opposite end of the spectrum, but I loved it. I had to pick up my sister from school and go to Walgreens before I was done with my whole face, so I had these crazy eyes but no face makeup whatsoever. I felt so awkward :P
What I used:
Concrete Minerals eye primer
Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy
The Overlook, by Killer Cosmetics (inner lid)
Morbid Faith, by Hi FI (outer lid/crease)
Lumi, by Sugarpill (highlight)
Stila smudge pot in Cobalt Clutch
Covergirl Liquiline Blast liners on waterline (they don't have names on them, but I think they are called Blue Blaze and Silver Spark)
L'Oreal Extra Collagen mascara
In other news, I am sadly going on a no buy until probably at least halfway through November, if not that whole month. The only exceptions are if I run out of my tinted moisturizer or mascara or something. I think I've already ordered all the Halloween stuff I want, so at least that's good. The reason is because I decided to never wear my retainer after I got my braces off, so now my teeth have shifted and my retainers don't fit. I have to get new ones and it's going to cost me $390 :( With the hours I've been working lately, that's like an entire paycheck and a half out of my savings. I'm going to rediscover great products I already have!

NOT a fail! I love your eyeliner! <3
ReplyDeletemy retainer doesn't fit either :( I try jamming it in anyway but half way through the night it's so painful I pull it out again :(
ReplyDeleteI love the uber bright blue liner!
I agree, not a fail!!! LOVE IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's nice to change it up a bit.
So not a fail, I love it! Morbid Faith looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm on a no-buy now for a month or so, too - boyfriend has lain the smack down, although we are saving for our holiday so that's ok. I only need blood for Halloween really, but it's still going to be hard. No Meow or Evil Shades for me :(
I think it's time for a no-buy of my own.
ReplyDeleteLove that eyeshadow. That liner is amazing.
Lol, I finished my no-buy/low-buy 2 weeks ago. I gotta say, it feels fantastic once you discover how much willpower you really have. Good luck with the retainer issue though! I wear one and it's definitely painful if you don't have the right size.
ReplyDeleteI think the eyeshadow and eyeliner combo looks great on you!
lol add me to the list of retainers that don't fit =/ I'm scared to go back to get a new one, because it will probably be very expensive as well.
ReplyDeleteOn a better note, I LOVE your eyeliner!!! Love Love Love... :)
absolutely gorgeous look and the liner is fantastic!
ReplyDelete$390 for a retainer?! They're not exactly cheap are they? at least you'll probably be forced to sort through all the makeup you already have - I did the same thing about 6 months ago and there were soooo many things I hadn't bothered using cos I'd forgotten all about them :)

That is an awesome look! Love the contrast between the light shadow and the bright blue liner! And I'm thinking of a no buy for November. I went crazy in October with all the new collections!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun look with gorgeous liner :)
ReplyDeleteGreat look! My oldest had to replace retainers for the same reason. I'm going back on a no buy too because I got a ticket. The nice thing about no buys is that you rediscover what you have, and find some forgotten treasures.
ReplyDeleteDuuuuuude, this is a win not a fail :D I fucking love the contrast between the light lid and crease and the electric blue liner.
ReplyDeleteI love how light and frosty the eye lids are then how BRIGHT and the eyeliner is so perfect. You look really good honey. <3
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your retainers. They are so expensive it's dumb. How are we suppose to have nice teeth if dental costs so much. :/
Absolutely gorgeous ! Pretty liner :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blue liner! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteBoo about the retainer. But yay for this look! I really like the gradient effect. :) And holy crap, is that Silver Spark? It looks amazing - why do I keep passing it over?
ReplyDelete:( Sorry about your no-buy. But your teeth are important, and you'll thank yourself later. :)
ReplyDeleteThat blue liner is SWEET!
Hey, I asked you a question a while back, but you may not have seen it 'cause it was posted on my blog, so I'll ask you here. :) You said something about me trying matte mineral eyeshadows to avoid fallout. Do you really think matte shadows have less fallout?
Wow, thanks everyone! I almost puked on the poor lady while I was getting my impressions done because I gag really easily. It was sad to see that money go down the drain, I was going to splurge on a really nice cardigan from Abercrombie :(
ReplyDeleteI love the blue, definitely looks like something a fairy would wear. I'm sorry about the retainer. The same type of thing happened to me. I had a built-in retainer, but it broke, so then they gave me a real retainer. By then, my teeth had already shifted, but I didn't want to get braces again (too much $) so now my teeth are a little crooked :( Ugh! Good luck to you though!!!
