AWOL, some boring personal stuff!

It's so funny that I don't post for 3 whole days and I feel like it's been an ETERNITY... I was spending as much time as I could with my boyfriend, who is now back in Texas. :( I miss him already. I also hadn't read any blogs for the last few days... I think I'm all caught up now, it took me hours! I was going to place some orders since I got paid today, but it's now late and I'm sleepy, so I guess I'll do it tomorrow after school. I'm going to try out 3 new places- Concrete Minerals, Metamorphosis Cosmetics, and... this is psychotic maybe... ARCHETYPE! I know, I know. I REALIZE completely they do not deserve ANYONE'S business, but I think you can all understand the attraction I feel to their pretty colors. Why am I deciding to do this now? Read Grey's Post here. I am really hoping I get them at a reasonable time, and not in who knows how many months (if ever)... I'm moving to Texas in August or September, so if it does get here that late, I'll be gone! In case anyone is interested, my plans to go to A&M pretty much fell through as I didn't get into the Honors program, and out of state tuition is fucking expensive. But I really just wanted to go to a university for parties and to join a sorority... I know it's weird not to go to college at this day and age, but I don't think I want to spend that much more time in school. I'm really smart, I got a 30 on my ACT and I'm damn proud of it so I don't care about bragging. :P But for some reason I am just so apathetic about school... I dropped as many classes as I can, so I am only in school for 4 hours a day right now, but it still feels like forever. So I am going to move to Texas where my boyfriend lives, get my own apartment and a job, and take college classes online for free from the community college where my dad works. This seems like it will be best for me and I'm REALLY excited to move somewhere new and be on my own. I have no idea what I want to do as a career... honestly I would just love to have my own little makeup company. I can't imagine doing anything else at this point. Makeup is something I am so passionate about, regardless of how frivolous it may seem to some people. And at the way the internet and stuff is now, I really feel like this could be an attainable goal. I would love to be able to get some kind of certificates or something in makeup artistry, too, but I don't know how one goes about getting those. End boring personal stuff! I don't want this post to be totally boring, so I decided to post these nail pictures I had from girls night a few weeks ago. The purple Milani holographic color Some Pure Ice color Too lazy to look for the names of polishes. Sorry guys :P I just realized, I have a lot of swatch pictures of blushes and lipsticks and things saved, but I have no idea what they actually are. So stupid >_< In case I lost you, here is an adorable baby chinchilla from Cute Overload. I love chinchillas. I have 2. They are the cutest, softest, sweetest little babies you could ever be lucky enough to own. I call them my chinchildren ^_^ Thanks for reading my boring post, I hope you had a great week! Hopefully I'll have some more interesting things for you tomorrow or Saturday.

  1. Awww I wanna squish him! lol. I've become a lazy daisy (wow that sounded old!) I have 2 eotd's to post but I'm too lazy to do it lol. Maybe Saturday I'll hop on that. Maybeeeeee.

  2. Hehe, I have no right to pester anyone for missing a few days when I just went MIA for a whole week! Just point and laugh at me and you'll feel better. ;)

I stopped going to college for a similar reason - school bored the absolute hell out of me. I love learning, but I like to do it on my own, at my own pace. I don't like the structure, I don't like lectures, note-taking, sitting in class...that and I realized that my major (accounting) was a 9-5 desk job, and I'm definately not a 9-5 desk job person.

In some ways, I shot myself in the foot with it, but in others, I'm better off having the work experience than having a stupid piece of paper. The economy's been pretty wonky, and there's a pretty solid chance my degree wouldn't have helped me.

I think that was my long-winded way of saying that either you're not crazy, or we both are.

  4. Personal stuff is not boring! I want to tell you something, I've been in quite a similar situation. I started at polytechnic (it's like uni but not that challenging) last fall, even though I wasn't really interested. I got quite excited when the studies started, but then things got really difficult, and I realized that I'm never going to be an engineer since I'm so bad at math. :p Now I've been dropping most of the courses, and I'm really excited about my part-time job since it gives me something to do. And money, of course.

Before I moved here and started school, I lived about 235 miles away. My boyfriend lived here and we were in a long-distance relationship for 10 months before moving in together. All that traveling sucked, but what we have now was definitely worth the wait. So, I hope that your dreams will come true and you'll do what you feel is the best. :)

  5. Omg my cousin had a chincilla when we were kids, it was SO CUTE and SO SOFT. I love how they take sand baths and roll around super quickly.

I would totes buy from your makeup company :) I got shit from a friend today about how much I like makeup and I was like 'dude, people have hobbies, this is just mine' and that made her look at it a bit differently.

  6. Congrats on making a decision about what you want to do :) I think it's great that you seem to have things planned out. Going to university isn't everything and if you don't feel it's right for you then it would be a waste of time (and money!)

I'd like to get some kind of MUA qualification as well but I'm clueless about how it works. But I'm sure you could find out if you decided you wanted to do that :)

  7. I applaud you for knowing what you want to do regarding school. Most people waste years and still have no idea!

  8. The purple Milani holographic color is cute but not as cute as the baby chinchilla!

I applaud you for knowing what you want to do regarding school.

  9. Make up carreer is nothing frivolous. I wish you to do this and succeed. I tend to think we should make a job that make us feel alive and passionnate. Otherwise, life isn't worthy to be lived and we feel like slaves or robots.

Oh and that furry baby ball is just too adorable to be true! Chinchilla have such a smooth fur. <3

  10. @KittenMittens: I understand, sometimes it just takes so long to do swatches and I'm like blahh

@Shattered: Yeah missy, get back here! I love your blog! Thank you so much for your comment. I read it at like 2 in the morning after waking up from horrible nightmares, and it made me feel so much better. I agree with you about the economy, as my mom now doesn't have a job.

@HeavenNRJ: Uh oh, I might order today, lol.

@Sagu: Thank you so much for your comment, it really meant a lot to me to read that. I've been with my boyfriend for over a year so I know we will stay together, but it's hard. I really love having a job. :)

@SilhouetteScreams: I have a video on my phone of one of my babies taking a dust bath :3 I think I can email it to myself and post it on here somehow. Aw thanks :) Yeah I agree, everyone has their hobbies, and I don't see why makeup is less valid than any others... I think it keeps my normal girl balance in check, as my other hobbies are reading about serial killers and watching disgusting movies, lol.

@Simone: Thank you very much :) I'd like to talk to Veronica of Hi Fi cosmetics, as I know she is a certified makeup artist. And her company is my favorite and has taken off so successfully, I really admire her.

@Janet: thank you :) I don't want to spend years at school and still not know what I want to do...

@Phyrra: I love the Milani holos, they are so cheap and the only holos I own! thank you :)

@jellynat: thank you so much! I can't imagine being stuck at a job I hated, because it just reminds me of when I worked at a movie theater- I hated it so much, I would just come home and cry every night after work. I can't deal with that. I love chinchillas sooo much! I want like 50, haha :D

  11. wow the Milani polish looks amazing. i've never seen anything like it before! xx

  12. Aww we used to have some chinchillas. They were sooo cute. The pale one was epileptic though, because people inbreed the white ones because they sell for more to spoilt brat children who must have a white one.

I'm glad you're not feeling the pressure to go to uni- there's no point if it's not going to be worthwhile for you. You're so mature for one so young (haha I'm only 2 years older than you, but don't feel patronised, I just know what all of my friends were like 2 years ago... Actually, what a lot of people I know are like now *giant eyeroll*)

I hope you had a lovely time with your boyfriend :)

  14. @Anita: Aren't holographic polishes the coolest?

@RaeRae: I need to upload pics of my fat boys. One is grey with a white belly, and one is all white. They are soooo cute! Haha thanks, I don't think it's patronizing. I think people probably change a LOT in the time right before they leave high school to after they've been gone for a while. I did have a great time with him, I already miss him though :(

    @SilhouetteScreams: yay thankies :3

  15. Cute nails!

I love cute overload, I saw that post and loved it :) I used to have a chinchilla! He died last year though (I think I told you that in another comment...sorry for repeating myself if I did) I've said I don't want another chinchilla... but I secretly keep checking pet finder for ones that are up for adoption around me... hehe.

  16. Aw, that little furry dude is so adorable! I want one now!

I enjoy reading personal stuff so do it if you feel you need/want to. :-)

  17. I don't find these posts boring, i read your blog because im interested in what you have to say, so i'm always interested in what's going on in your life :)

You're mental though, dont trust archetype! D:

I don't think it's weird to not go to college, i know if i was American i wouldn't because of the insane fees! In England we pay around £3000 a year, which still seems a lot to me (particularly for my ridiculous art college 'education' where the money would basically have been as helpful if i'd just spent it hiring a studio space X/) and don't you have to pay like $20000 or more for your universities? Insane!
Also if you're not interested in it there is no point doing it, learning online like you plan to is just as sensible and probably even more so as you will be earning money at the same time and you'll be with your boyfriend :)

And i can't wait for you to start playing making your own cosmetics, i am really interested in starting my own little line (particularly for lipsticks) but don't feel i know enough about it to try.

And also AWWW i want a chinchilla really badly! He's so tiny :D

  18. @Caitlin: thanks :) I don't think you've told me about your chinny before, that's too bad :( Before I got my 2nd fatty I was ALWAYS checking craigslist and the newspaper for my town to see if anyone was selling theirs.

@Blix: Chinchillas are great pets, I like small animals. I would love a hedgehog, guinea pigs, a bunny, a dwarf hamster, and I heard skunks are terrific pets, but they're illegal in Illinois.

@Lillian: I got an email saying my Archetype order will be shipped Monday ;D I'm going to make a post when or if it ever arrives about the whole experience. Most in state universities are around $23,000-26,000, but the one I liked best is of course like $36,000. They offered me an $8000 scholarship but that's still way too expensive. The out of state school I want to go to is $36,000. People spend their whole fucking lives paying back their money spent on college.

I'm sure you could learn! I certainly don't know enough, but I just want to start messing around for now, and then maybe when I have my own place I could do some research and learn enough to be able to sell some things, even if it's just for fun.

  19. I didn't go to college and I'm glad. It would have been a complete waste of time. It's good to realize something because you don't want to get stuck paying back loans if you didn't finish. It sucks paying them back even if you did BUT it especially sucks if you didn't. Might as well burn the money.

Yay for Texas! Where are you moving?? I'm around the San Antonio/Austin are. South Central Texas! :)

  22. Ooh neato we will surely have to meet up sometime! The thing I'm so excited about is living in a town with an Ulta, I probably think about shopping there more than I think about being with my boyfriend... I'm horrible XP
