Rainbow & Neutral looks

I've been playing around with my makeup a lot more this week than I usually do, so I have a couple looks to show you that I personally LOVE. I washed my brushes too, yay! Quick thoughts about my brushes: with the last few washes, my Ecotools and my elf Studio eyeshadow brushes have gotten really stiff and the pigment just kind of sits on them. Any advice? The eyeshadow brushes that are actually doing the best are my Maybelline brushes that I've had for at least 3 years. I'm so impressed, I'm going to try and find some more (I THINK they were from Walmart, maybe Target). Also, I'm looking for a good and cheap kabuki brush, none of this MAC nonsense. What would you recommend? This first look is the popular, overused rainbow look. I realized I have never actually done one, so I decided to use my Brights collection from Fusion of Color. There's no purple, but I'm not really sure where I would have put it anyway. This next look was using my Book of Shadows III from Urban Decay. I call it "Dirty Neutral" :3 You can interpret that however you want, ya creeps. The liner is Urban Decay as well, in the shade "Lucky". One last thing: after reading your comments, there is no way in HELL I am getting an industrial! I'd like to get a small septum ring, but I'm going to hold off on that for a little bit since I'll have to look for a new job in a couple months when I move. You never know how places are about piercings...

  3. Pretty, I like the rainbow look! Pre-warning about septum piercings - they hurt more as they're healing that the actual piercing. I got hit on my nose loooads as mine healed, too -_-

  6. Ooh, nice blending on the rainbow one! Pretty! The neutral one looks nice on you too.

The only thing I could think of is maybe the brushes aren't getting the soap washed completely off them? Or, this happened to me once...is it possible that you've used these brushes heavily with pixie epoxy? I had some brushes get gunked up and stiff once, they had a bunch of PE on them that I really had to work to get off.

  10. Pretty looks!

septum piercings are good because you can buy a keeper (and even have it pierced with a keeper) which totally hides the piercing making it fine for the work environment. Mine hurt a fair bit but wasn't the worst thing in the world. It hurt as it healed because it gets a bit crusty and as this little bits get into the wound it is painful (sorry for the graphic details). the good news is it healed faster than anything else I've ever had, mine was perfectly healed within 2 weeks :) I've had my septum for 11 years now and I love it! xx

  11. I second femputer's point about the PE; sometimes that stuff just won't come out. What kind of brush washing stuff did you use?

  12. Prettyyyyy! I love the rainbow look :D
Yeah, septums are cool, I wanted one but I don't think it'll suit me. I second the comment about the keeper too, they're really easy to hide so maybe worth getting it soon so it can heal before you switch to something tiny to hide it jobhunting? :)

  13. I really love neutrals, so I love your second look!! I've never used PE, but when I've got a tough brush to clean, I'll use some olive oil. Hope that helps. Have you looked at the Sedona Lace kubuki's? They are insainly soft and just $17.95. =) I love mine!

  16. Thanks everybody!

@Beauty's Bad Habit: Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind! I always accidentally hit myself in the face xD

@femputer: I think that could definitely be the case for one of them, because I always use that same brush with my PE since it's nicer. I'll have to try and clean it REALLY thoroughly.

@Chicky: I've never heard of a keeper before, thank you! I might get it done really soon if they will do that at the piercing place I like :)

@thecandiedmango: I just use a foaming soap, normally BABW but I only had some foam Dial this time so I used that. I don't think there would be much of a difference though...

@FunnyFaceBeauty: Thanks! I used Maui Wowie on the lid, Suspect in the crease, and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again as a highlight (it's not as dark as it looks in my pictures).
