I need help choosing my Meow foundation color!

I have been sitting here trying to figure out which foundation samples to order from Meow for so long that the sale would be over in just a few minutes if they didn't just generously extend it until Tuesday. Thankfully they did, so hopefully before then you guys can help me! For my actual skin tone, it looks like I could be a 1/Sleek, or a 2/Frisky. My real problem is figuring out my undertones. I have done all the little tests and tricks to discover what my undertone is, and I get a different result for everything I try. I am so confused. I don't want to have to order an insane number of samples, as I do NOT have the money for that right now. If someone has any idea of which foundations might work for me based on my FOTD's that I've posted in the past, please please please let me know! I know a lot of you wear Meow foundation, so any suggestions you have would be extremely helpful for me.

  1. Have you tried Temptalia's foundation matrix? It has honestly been a godsend for me in terms of finding foundations!

At least they've got a minimum order amount so you have to choose a bunch of foundations!

  2. :( I wish I was helpful. I have about 20 samples and I still can't find a match, or my lighting just sucks ballz or something. I know a lady on the meow forum can try to match people if you post a direct sunlight photo. Her name is Jen I think :)

  3. I've used Meow foundations for about 6 months and it's perfect for my skin. I was really worried about buying lots of samples as I'm no good at picking my undertones etc, but I posted a picture on the forum and within a day had a reply. I was told what she thought I was and my guesses were completely off, but I went with the suggestion and she was totally right! I have a giant pot of it now. :) They are really friendly on the forums and really good at spotting the right foundation match. :)

  4. Try asking on the Chanty Forums - the girls there are mineral MU experts. Or email Meow linking to a post which best shows your skin :]

  5. I tried lots of Samples and even got a Munchkin in Sleek Sphynx but now after using it a while I don't think anymore that it's my match.
I will go through my samples again to find a better match...

Unfortunately I can't really help you with finding a match, but as lots of people said maybe try their forum? I don't want to get an account for just one entry, so I guess need to search a little bit more.

  6. I know there's a chick on the forums or something you can email with photos of your naked face in natural light and she'll work it out for you :)

  7. I'd second-third-fourth everyone's comments about asking Jen. I had to try a few samples before I found my match, Frisky Chausie. (I also tried Siamese, Bengal and Himalayan.)

It's not easy to tell, because I'd have to see your face in natural light with no makeup to accurately judge, but I think you might want to look at Sphynx and Himalayan (pinkish/warmer), and possibly also Chausie and Bengal (more neutral) - that would be eight samples there, if you got Sleek and Frisky in those four shades.

  8. I used the forum to ask for matches. I posted a sunlight pic of my bare face (eek!) and Jen got back to me the next day with suggestions. I didn't really know my undertones either, but it turns out I think I have peach in there which I never really realized. I always thought I was just yellow, but I think I also have peach, some beige, and maybe a tiny bit of pink. Jen suggested I try Sphynx, Abbysinian, Manx, and maybe Chartreux in Sleek or Frisky. She said I'm somewhere in that range. I'm still waiting for my samples to arrive, but hopefully I'll find a match amongst them! ;)

If you don't have time to wait for a reply, maybe try running outside and taking a picture in direct sunlight of your makeup-less face? You could try looking at your own undertones to at least get a place to start. Good luck to you!

  9. Definitely ask Jen as she's an expert at this!! She was the first to tell me I have yellow undertones when I thought I was cool because of all the red overtones. You will need a photo in full sunlight for Jen to work with.

  10. I don't know guys, I'm still not really convinced I should ask Jen... haha just kidding :) Thanks, I'll do that! Sadly it has been totally grey outside for the last week. Hopefully we'll have a sunny day soon so I can get some pictures!

  11. Ask on the Meow forums, Jen is awesome! She's the one who matched me :)

  12. I would honestly say: buy several today (at least 8), use the CatsEatTurkey coupon for 15% off, and choose free shipping. AND THEN ask Jen for information as well - you may find that Your Perfect Match is in your order, or you may find that Jen has a better suggestion for you. But 15% off plus free shipping...it's a good deal.

Unfortunately, it ends tomorrow night, Tuesday 11/30. But no pressure. :) (Originally was supposed to end last night, but they extended their Black Friday Weekend sale.)
