A product I hate so much that I'm making a whole post about it.

I hope it is evident from the name of my blog that I generally write about makeup. Once in a while I'll talk about a fun indie bath & body company, cus that stuff is awesome too! I do not ever write about shaving cream, because that shit is boring, and it's not fun, pretty, or awesome. But due to the fact that my legs and wallet have been defiled by this mockery of a shaving cream, and due to the fact that I keep seeing people RECOMMENDING this crap, I decided to make a ranty post about how much it sucks. I care about you guys and don't want you to make the same mistake I did when I bought... *DUN DUN DUN* THE SHAVING CREAM FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL! I bought this Eos shaving cream from Walgreens a couple months ago, wanting to test it. I don't remember the exact price, only that it was about $1 more than my usual Skintimate shaving cream (in the scent Flirty Mango). I wouldn't even call this product a shaving cream. It is more like an extremely runny lotion, or like using a bar of soap on your legs to shave instead of actual shaving cream (which I find annoyingly ineffective). You would think, that since it's basically just a lotion, your legs would feel soft and moisturized after you use it. Wrong! My legs are really dry and sensitive, and after I shave they are usually really itchy. This product wasn't any different. It says you can use it wet or dry- true, but it sucks either way. When I tried using it on dry legs, it left behind a really thin layer of the cream wherever I shaved that I had to wash off. The razor couldn't seem to get it all. A lot of the product also got stuck in between the razor blades, and wouldn't rinse out. This made more hair get stuck in the blades as well, so basically the blade is ruined after one use. The sink in my bathroom got extremely clogged up last month and was practically impossible to fix, and I just now realized it was probably due to the shaving cream that was going down the drain. You also have to use a huge amount to fully cover your legs. I have only tried using it twice, and if I ever bothered to try it again, there's only enough left for 2 or 3 more shaves. The only redeeming quality is that it smells nice. I picked out the scent Lavender Jasmine. I don't think it smells like either, but it's nice. Bottom line: sound the alarms and avoid at all costs! I like to end angry posts with a nice picture ^_^ Here you go!

  3. What a pile of poo. Actually, using poo would probably somehow result in a better shave >___>

  5. Wow, it's really a bummer that this stuff didn't work for you. I actually really like it, but obviously (to anyone who sees this) YMMV.
Do you think the irritation might be from using scented products, since shaving scrapes up the top layer of skin? I've never seen an unscented shaving cream/lotion, and I also have problems with the dryness and irritation, so it would be interesting to test a product that is totally unscented.

  6. Thanks for the warning! ;) Like many have said, I too, don't use shaving cream. I shave in the shower and my razors have that strip on it that is supposed to soothe the skin. It must do OK because I don't have any issues.

You are a true champ to give this a whirl. And I respect you for giving an honest opinion. :)

  7. Hair conditioner is so much better! I'm not a huge fan of EOS. I think I'm the only one who hates those little balls of lip balm :P Thanks for the review--I will stay away!

  8. The best shave I've ever gotten? Oil. Coconut is nice, but I did this to use up some random bottles I had around. Super close, moisturizing, no annoying fragrance.

  9. I own one of these and I don't have any problems with. Everything doesn't work for everyone. Some people it like and some people don't.

  10. Haha wow I love the Hell picture you made! xD I used this over the summer for shaving and I liked it, but I was dismayed by 2 things: The amount it took to get a good shave, and how quickly the bottle was used up. It did smell really nice, though. ;3

I usually just use bosy wash or conditioner to shave, but my razor does get kinda clogged. I should probably find a nice foam to use x3

  11. Oh man that SUCKS. I'm glad I read this, because I'd been thinking about trying it out. I really love their lip balm, I have really dry lips (really dry skin in general) and it's one of the few that really works for me. As for shaving cream..I think I'll also be sticking with Skintimate haha that stuff sounds like a nightmare.

  12. Thanks for this review. I haven't tried EOS shaving cream and now I never will! Sorry you had such a bad experience with it :( But on the positive side, you have prevented many of us from having this same bad experience :)

  13. Damn, that sucks. Havent even heard of this brand before (possibly not sold in the UK?) but I cant see me hunting it down just to see how bad it is! :)

I don't like shaving lotions - I love the gels that foam up into a nice rich lather cos they're sooo much easier to actually shave with ♥

    Awesome review!

  16. @thecandiedmango: I never thought about that, but it could definitely be the case. Have you ever seen those commercials for some kind of lotion, and it has an alligator to represent dry, scaly legs? Yeah, that's me after shaving.

@cait: I have a couple and they're ok, but nothing overwhelmingly awesome imo.

@Emily: I've never heard of anyone using oils, that might be something I should check into!

@Eve: Well I'm glad it at least works for some people! :)
