Movie post (Non makeup related, sorry lovelies)
If there is one thing I am obsessed with as much as makeup... and besides Hello Kitty... it is movies. I started becoming unhealthily obsessed wih them right around when I turned 14, I think. Ever since then I have watched between 2-5 movies a week in the school year, and about 7-12 a week in the summer. Sorry I don't have a life guys... anyway, I really enjoyed these films, and hopefully someone else will watch at least one and get some enjoyment from it too. Here are the best movies I've seen in the month of February, 2010. Note: these are not all movies released this month, just ones I have happened to see this month.

Ahh Dead Snow is a brilliant movie lol. Come on does it get better than nazi zombies and litres of blood? No it does not. :)
ReplyDeleteHard Candy was seriously disturbing.
ReplyDeleteThe burbs was great :)
I really really want to see Dead Snow! And i really liked Hard Candy (though i was really, really disappointed at one part that i cant say without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it :P).
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to watch Dead Snow for SO LONG. The company that promoted that releases the most disturbing films :D like one about a human centipede created through sewing people mouth to ass :|
ReplyDeleteAnd well, I've been meaning to watch Hard Candy because of how disturbing everybody says it is ;]
ReplyDelete@Jeri: I just watched it yesterday, I loved it so much! I felt so cool yet lame being like "Yeah guys, I'm going to go watch a Norwegian nazi zombie movie now..."
ReplyDelete@Phyrra: I loved Hard Candy so much. It redeemed Ellen Page for me, cus honestly after seeing the vomit pile that was Juno, I hated her. The 'burbs was not at all what I expected, and not the kind of movie I usually watch, but I really loved it.
@Lillian: It is sooo good! It has lots of references to other zombie movies, which is something that I enjoyed. I think I know what part of Hard Candy you're talking about, hehe. That movie was so intense.
@SilhouetteScreams: I don't know about Australia, but Dead Snow just came out on DVD here Tuesday. So I'd guess it will probably be making its way there soon, if it hasn't already. Hard Candy is GREAT. Hahaha the funniest thing about your post is I don't know exactly which centipede movie you are talking about because I can think of 2 it might be :P God I love horror movies. Is it Human Centipede: First sequence? I heard that movie is fucking nasty. But then there's that 80's Japanese centipede movie where everyone is puking up centipedes, and it's real, the actors are really puking those centipedes. I saw a clip of it. It's gross, but not as gross as I expected, because I kept hearing things about how that movie made people so grossed out they hated their lives or some crazy shit. I think they were just pussies. oh my god sooo long comment haha
ReplyDeleteSplinter was so WEIRD. Besides that, I can't watch Paulo Costanzo in anything without being reminded of 'Animorphs'. xD
ReplyDeleteGotta say, not too pleased with the outhouse scene in Dead Snow. WTF is what I said out loud when I saw it lol
ReplyDeleteI'm used to film-obsessed people- my boyfriend has a degree in Film Studies... So yeah, sometimes he'll reference a film, I won't pick up said reference, he'll be like "film?" and I'll be like "havn't seen it". It is at this point he looks at me like I've grown a third head.
ReplyDeleteHe wants to see Dead Snow I think. Zombie Nazis sounds hilarious to be fair. Maybe I'll put it on our lovefilm list.
I think you should definitely do movie posts regularly, like every month or 2... It gives us an idea of what you're like outside of makeup :)
There must be something wrong with me as I haven't seen most of these. I will fix this soon!
ReplyDelete@Hendrix: I thought Splinter was really unique for a zombie/infection type movie, I enjoyed it a lot.
ReplyDelete@KittenMittens: hahahaha.
@RaeRae: I always thought it would be neat to study film. My boyfriend watches a lot of movies too, so I love being able to reference something somewhat obscure and he usually knows what I'm talking about. I made him watch this French movie once called Inside, though, which is the nastiest movie I think I will ever see, and so he doesn't like me to choose the movies anymore, lol. I think I'll do a post like this at the end of every month, especially since people are actually commenting. I didn't think anyone would really read this.
@Blix: lol nothing is wrong with you girly! I just love movies a lil too much *_* I am actually really surprised at how many people responded to this, especially about Dead Snow! I'm glad others share my very ungirly movie tastes :P If you watch one, choose Hard Candy first.
LOVED the Burbs! I haven't thought about that movis in years - might have to rewatch!
ReplyDeleteWould you believe you've totally just reminded me of a movie that I've sort of wanted to see for ages, but I forgot the title? Dead Snow XD (although tbh Nazi zombies sounds like my worst nightmare bar nothing).
ReplyDeleteNever heard of The People Under The Stairs but it looks good! And Splinter.
...it's not hard to figure out my taste in movies XD
@Janet: I thought it was so great! It is just such a fun, happy movie, which I didn't think it would be at all from the summary I read.
ReplyDelete@Simone: Haha glad I could help! People Under The Stairs is actually not scary at all, I wouldn't call it a horror movie. I don't know what I'd call it, but it is really neat. If I had seen it when I was younger I think I would have been completely amazed by it. I love the horror movies too <3
