Beauty Blogger Challenge
If you head on over to A Girl and Her Shadows, you can see that she has set up the Beauty Blogger Challenge, a fun little weekly questionnaire thing. I promised you swatches with my next post, but I am way too hungover to put that much effort into anything. Before you start thinking I am cool or fun, it was from drinking at my cousin's wedding reception on New Years... surrounded by my whole family... with my boyfriend in Alaska... where I did not do anything but sit in a chair all night and drink fuzzy navels. On the drive back home today, my dad had to pull over so I could puke on the side of the road. Not the best way to start off 2011 :P But I am moving to Texas in less than 3 weeks, and I'm really excited about starting a new chapter in my life. It's nice to know that even when I'm moving 1000 miles away, I'll still have all of you to talk to :) That's really comforting to me, I appreciate all of you so much!
The question for this week is: Why did you start blogging about beauty? Do you think you would have blogged about other topics if you hadn’t started beauty blogging? Were you already blogging something else when you started?
I started reading beauty blogs because I was following Aromaleigh on facebook, and Miss K sometimes would link to blogs that were using AL products. The first blogs I started regularly following were Phyrra and Gothique. Through them I found other bloggers, and eventually decided I wanted to start a blog too.
I also started a movie blog at the same time, but deleted it after a few weeks because I wanted to focus solely on Eyeconic Makeup. I probably would have maintained a movie blog at some point if I never started this one, and I do a movie post over here every once in a while. Movies are my great obsession alongside makeup, so if you ever want to chat about some random film you think no one else has ever heard of, I'm your girl! Especially if it's horrifying/disturbing/disgusting :D
I really hope some more of you participate in this weekly event, I think it's really fun and I'd love to see everyone else's answers! Thanks for reading my textwall. Your reward is pictures of my dog, Ginger, who I will miss very much when I leave! She loves to sit outside in the snow :3

ahhh my comment disappeared!
ReplyDeleteKYOOT PUPPEH TONGUE!
Speaking of disturbing movies, have you seen AntiChrist? It was too artsy for me so I fell asleep partway through and unfortunately woke up during a gory part lol
HA yes! I just watched that a couple months ago. The whole time I was like "This is sooo boring, why does everyone say it's so gross OH MY GOD EWWWWW"
ReplyDeleteShe is so adorable in the snow ;)
ReplyDeleteBlog love! *flail* Also, internet hugs, which are not as good as real hugs, but I never want real hugs when I'm hungover, personally. (More like I want to stab everyone in the face and then cry, so I try not to drink much.)
ReplyDeleteYou are in for a big move, but with internet (long distance phone cards are good, too), it probably won't be quite as hard as you might be expecting. My first move out took me from my parents' house in Minnesnowtah to New Mexico. While I did end up moving back, it was more out of financial need than emotional necessity, and I do definitely miss it there.
Oh my god. I want your dog! Does she have any pups?
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, you puked in front of the parents :D I would never live that down! Happy New Year! x
ReplyDeleteHehe, what a cute doggie!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you started a blog. :)
LOL AWWWWW. I would be too ashamed to even admit that I threw up in front of my parents to even announce it to the world on blogger
ReplyDeleteOoh you must be so excited with the move coming so soon! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love gross movies too :P
And Ginger is so so cute!
@Shattered: I feel like I'll be fine keeping in touch with my family, I made a Skype thing a while ago, so now I just have to learn how to use it... mostly so I can talk to my kitties :3
ReplyDelete@Lady In a Top Hat: Nope! We got her fixed as soon as we adopted her when she was a puppy. She had lived with people who neglected her, and she had fleas so bad they had to shave a lot of her fur off. But now she's a big spoiled baby :3
@Robyn: It's almost impossible for me to get embarrassed about anything. I actually did a few weeks ago though when I was buying groceries and signed my name on the credit card machine with a real pen instead of the stylus-pen...
@Y: haha I think it's a good first hangover story!
I AM GOING TO STEAL YOUR DOG. SO CUTE ^___^
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about starting a movie blog, but I have no idea where I would start XD
My mom puts one of the kitties on the phone for me; the other two are old men and don't care. Sometime this year we are hopefully going to get a dog, but there is a crapton of painting, floor refinishing, etc to do in this house.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't too much of a learning curve with Skype. Just remember that they generally want money if you want to call a phone number instead of a computer.
What a beautiful dog!! I can see why you'll miss him.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I know I'm not the first to say this, but I love your dog and especially that picture you took of her. I was wondering if I could have permission to do a painting with that picture as a reference? Idk you may have problems with photo/copyright issues >.<
