Red Lipstick & Black Liner

is the name of one of my favorite blogs. It's also the look I did the other night. I NEVER wear red lips. I've literally worn red lips in public only one other time that I can recall, so this was a big deal as far as makeup goes :P I didn't want to bombard the world with a bunch of colorful eyeshadow as well, so I just did a super neutral eye with shadows from the amazing LE Maybelline Salsa Sun palette, and for the liner I used some Physician's Formula cream liners. I winged it out a teeny bit, not much because I am TERRIBLE at winging out liner, and I didn't want to mess it up. My lips were MAC's 'Swelter' Slimshine over 'A Classic' lipstain (which has sadly almost dried out from me not putting the cap on tight enough). Doing really red lips with the thick liner actually made me feel confident instead of self-conscious, I felt so adult and classy!

Hello everyone. I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging regularly, now that I've settled down a bit. You have no idea how much I appreciate all the support I've gotten from everyone, it means the world to me. I love you guys :3 I thought today I'd just show a few of the many items I'm lemming at the moment! Morgana's Vegan Lipsticks in Goldrush and Lush. Melissa is going to be releasing a TON of new lipsticks soon, so keep an eye out for those. The Stila Make Me Blush set, which you can only get at Sephora Evil Shades eyeshadows in Sweater Girl and CC41 from the new Pin Up Girls collection Physician's Formula gel liner in Glam Brown Eyes Suds n Sass Kiss My Sass lipgloss in Domina. There's a lot of Suds N Sass products I'd like to try! I've only ever bought a few shadow samples. Geek Chic's Geek Gloss in Happy Ending UDPP in the shade "Greed", which is also only available at Sephora (online only I think, I never could find it in the store) Any of these look appealing? Drugstore Favorites, part 2: bright eyeliner

For my next "I'm on a low buy so I need to rediscover great products I already have" post, I thought I'd focus on bright liners! I need to take a picture of my eyeliner collection someday, it is ridiculous. If I had to guess at how many I own, I'd say around 35. So, here are my favorite ones, available at Walgreens / CVS / WalMart, etc. First, we have the relatively new Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliners. Therese go for about $8 or $9. I have the shades Blue Bloom and Green Glow. The staying power is good on the lids, not so great for waterline. The Milani Infinite liquid liners go for about $6, and come in lots of cool colors. I have Infinite, the cobalt blue, and Endless, a purple. Anyone who has these can attest to the fact that the things DO NOT budge. I've slept in them, and they've stayed mostly intact. The last one's I'm going to show you today are part of the shimmer strips collection by Physician's Formula. They are cream liners, and I bought the set for green eyes. I think these are around $10-11, but I got mine when they were 40% off at CVS :) The neat thing about these is that you can stack them together.I love the black, it's very opaque and has little sparklies in it too. Do you have any of these liners? Which drugstore liners are your favorites? WHICH STAY ON THE WATERLINE? I can never find ones that will stay well on my waterline, or even show up very well.

Drugstore disasters & something awesome

Today I thought I'd share with you some drugstore products I've gotten that are totally shitty, so you can avoid wasting your time with them! Offender #1: Almay clear complexion liquid makeup Supposedly it helps clear up the blemishes you're concealing. I call bullshit on that, but at least it's ok as a regular concealer, right? WRONG! It has the worst, messiest packaging know to man. I'll let the picture speak for themselves. Yeah, that's hair stuck in it. Extra gross. And this crap costs $12! I also just remembered the Almay eyeliner I got once, which was supposed to be hypoallergenic blahblah and great for contact users! I always get liner from my waterline in my contacts, so I got it. AND IT BURNED LIKE THE DICKENS :P I don't like Almay. Offender #2: Physician's Formula Circle Rx under eye concealer Oh the horror! It claims to reduce your under-eye circles in two weeks... lies. I've been using it for almost a month and I see no noticeable difference. As an under eye concealer, I actually like it, but once again, the packaging kills the product. Do you see that? It's a freaking bubble. This stuff bubbles and spills everywhere. It has a squeeze tube which I've never actually needed to squeeze, because everything comes gushing out by itself. Also, the top part of the packaging (not the lid) just pops off all the time. A waste of $8! Avoid! Offender #3: Revlon lip gloss in shade Coral Reef Photo from Mizz Worthy's Stuff Coral Reef is on the left. I bought it without even looking at the price tag, because I thought Mizz Worthy's lip swatch picture made it look so gorgeous. It was $9, which is a total ripoff to me, since most drugstore glosses (in my opinion) tend to be about the same. It wasn't sheer, and the color was gorgeous, but no matter what I did, I would end up with little bald patches on my lips. I couldn't get an even coating to save my life, and it made every little spot on my lips show up and look horrible (like you would need to use a lip scrub beforehand). I returned it. But for all these totally lame products, there has been one bright shiny star that I've been using every day. Enter the limited edition Maybelline palette in Earthly Glow! Yes, I happened to run into Walgreens right as all the new makeup displays were being set up, and I finally saw the Salsa Sun collection! I think this is AMAZING. Pigmentation is good, the shadows are so soft they're almost creamy, and you get 8 GORGEOUS earth tone shades for only $10. Sorry my carpet is so gross! These swatches make the red-brown and brown shade look the same, but they aren't. The first color is there, it just matches my skin tone so well it's hard to see. If you've been disappointed by lame drugstore colors, buy this. It's awesome. The trios from Salsa Sun are also really pretty, but I needed more than 3 colors obviously! For some drugstore sales, Physician's Formula is 40% off at CVS, and Rimmel & Wet'n Wild are BOGO free. Last time I was at Walgreens, Rimmel was half off as well.

Teal/Blue EOTD

It's 77 degrees today! :D Tomorrow it's going to be around 80, I'm overjoyed! My ideal weather is 85ish with a breeze. I like when it's a lil toasty out. I already picked out which dress to wear, heehee. A lot of people have been doing looks with teal and blue lately, so I decided to use those colors today. I'm definitely feelings these colors, so springy! What I used: UDPP forgot Pixie Epoxy :( Relax, by Sassy (inner lid) Lush, by Stardust (middle lid) +20 Beautification, by Fyrinnae (outer lid) Crystalline Highlight #10 by Detrivore (highlight) Flutura's Cloud by Aromaleigh (under waterline) Urban Decay Lingerie eyelash primer Prestige My Biggest Lashes mascara Jemma Kid i-conic eyeliner in Drama Queen (waterline) mark After Glo blush Physician's Formula Circle Rx undereye concealer Revlon PhotoReady translucent finisher Bare Escentuals Buxom gloss in Hope (clear with pink iridescence) It looks like there is a big chunk of missing shadow from my right eye... it didn't look like this irl, I think some of the colorm just got scooted up to the crease, even though I didn't use a crease color today. I got the new Physician's Formula undereye concealer when I was at Ulta- although the packaging and application is HORRIBLE, the concealer seems to be working well. It also might be because the color on this matches my skintone better, as opposed to what I was using. This also promises to make dark circles lighten over time... we'll see. I also got the Prestige mascara from Ulta. By itself I don't really like it, but used with the UD primer, it's great- totally seperated lashes, no clumping whatsoever. They don't get really big, but it's ok because they look like natural, but better. I LOVE the Detrivore Crystalline highlight powders. They are so perfect, I use the brown shade all the time (I think it's called Shrewd). I thought it was cool that every single thing I used today was from a different brand. I need to start using other blushes besides my mark blush, but it's just so convinient for my lazy self since it's a brick, and not a powder. I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
