Neutral EOTD with bright pink cheeks &lips

Hi everyone! I know I don't have the MAC swatches I promised you yet, ooops ;) But I've been super busy as I'm moving in less than 2 weeks. For the same reason, I'll probably be updating pretty sporadically for the next month or so until I'm all settled in. I will, however, be photo-documenting my moving-out experience, so you can all look at the pictures and pretend to enjoy them! Speaking of photos, check out Lady Gaga's upcoming products for Polaroid. This stuff blows my mind. I actually hit pan on the elf Gotta Glow blush as I did this look, so I'm going to do a review of it soon since I love it so much. I also would like to get the MAC swatches done before I leave, and a little review with swatches of the big NYX glitter cream palette I got a while ago. My trip to a CCO

If you read as many beauty blogs as I do, you may have heard of the famed "CCO" shops- it stands for Cosmetics Company Outlet. CCO's are owned by Estee Lauder, and they carry discounted makeup from all the brands Estee Lauder owns. At the CCO I went to, they carried (besides Estee Lauder, obviously) Flirt! (the Kohl's makeup line), Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Prescriptives, and MAC, the reason anyone really wants to go in the first place. They also had a good amount of Clinique skincare products, and skincare products from another brand I haven't heard of, American something. I didn't look closely at the perfume brands but I do remember seeing Tommy Hilfiger. The store was at an outlet mall in Aurora, IL. I was visiting one of my grandmas who lives pretty close to that area so my mom and I decided to go to the outlet mall and check it out. :) Sadly I forgot my camera at home that day so I didn't get any pictures of the store for you guys. If you go on Youtube though, some people have uploaded videos of what the stores look like. They had some stuff in boxes you could just grab off the shelf and buy, but things like eyeliners and lippies they only had out as testers, and you would have to bring them up to the counter to get them new in the box. Some of the gloss testers were gross, but it's nice that you know no one has touched the stuff you end up buying. The discount prices aren't huge, I would say most things were 20%-35% off the original price. The items they carry aren't brand new things. For example, the most recent MAC items they had were from the To The Beach collection, but they also had stuff from as far back as the Heatherette, Fafi, etc. collections. They had lots of discontinued items too! I decided to go ahead and buy my very first MAC products :) Right now I am out of town AGAIN for another family thing, but I will do swatches when I get home. I got a mineralized blush, a Superglass, a Lipglass, a liquid liner, a Slimshine lipstick, and a lipstain. The total of these items was a little less than $70 after tax. If you have a CCO near you and you like MAC or any of the other brands they carry, it is DEFINITELY worth your time to go, even if you have to drive a while. Here is a link to which outlet malls have a CCO store. The same outlet mall also had a Lancome Company Store. They had Juicy Tubes and this amazingly cool discontinued product I'll show you later for 55% off, so I got three items for about $20. I also went to CVS yesterday and grabbed a couple clearance lippies from Revlon that were 75% off. They were less than $3 each. If you haven't heard by now, CVS is having their beauty clearance sale. You can find out some great information about it over at Noveau Cheap. At the one I stopped at, I don't think they had finished marking prices, but I did see a LOT of Revlon stuff on sale. So here was my total haul for the week, and everything was purchased at a discount price! If there is anything else I can think to add about the CCO I will, and if there is something you'd like to know that I didn't mention, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to try and remember :P

Multicolor LOTD

Hey guys, my look from the other day was partly inspired by this look of Phyrra's, and from a bottle of Garnier leave in conditioner crap on my floor. :) I used shades that had a low amount of shimmer in them, and I really like the way it turned out! What I used: googoomuck, by Aromaleigh (lid) Rising Tide, by Hi Fi (outer lid and crease) Lancome Hypnose mascara (I wish I could afford a full size >_>) Palladio eye ink in Eggplant (eyeliner) Covergirl liner in brown black (waterline) Alive, by Hi Fi (orange under waterline) Creature, by Detrivore (purple under waterline) Glass House, by Sassy Minerals (highlight) Lipology Outrageously Glossy Lip Sheer (the color name isn't listed on the package after you take off the wrapping, sorry! But I would reccomend any of these glosses, they're really pretty, and not very sticky. They smell AMAZING too, I got some on sale for $2 each at Meijer). I hope you like the look! I've noticed how my blog layout sort of looks super lame, and how my banner is just using some random picture I stole off Google. I want to make it better but I am not good at this HTML stuff... I used to be, back when I was 14 and needed to make myself cool MySpace layouts! I think I maybe am supposed to have one of those disclaimer things too, but I don't see why, since I'm not cool enough to actually get free shit from companies. I will try and figure out what to do about the layout soon, I hope!

My Sephora Wishlist

I spent quite a while going through the Sephora website for neat stuff that is somewhat reasonably priced. Here's what I will be dreaming of tonight... Once again, if anyone knows a store with MAC/Urban Decay/etc. type products for a lower price, please let me know!

Detrivore Review

Finally! I am so lazy, I've had these for probably two weeks.From Detrivore Cosmetics, I ordered their primer, and samples of Abyss, Creature, Starlet, Swine, and Ectoplasma. They sent me four free samples, Death Valley, Amazon, Muse, and Shroud. The funny thing is, my two favorite colors were from their assortment, Muse and Shroud. The samples I received were in the same color family as the ones I paid for, I really like this. I didn't get a little thank-you with the package, but I decided 4 free samples were keeping me just as happy. :) I think that's really generous. Here are my swatches: From left to right: Creature, Death Valley, Amazon, Swine, Muse, Ectoplasma, Abyss, Starlet, and Shroud. The top row is straight on my skin, the bottom row is on top of the Detrivore primer. I think these are all pretty, the pictures actually make them look more sparkly than they do the way I see them. They're not big on the twinkle or shimmer, closer to mattes, all pretty simple. I know some people really like this, but I prefer lots of shimmer and sparkle in my shadows. Even so, these are beautiful. They were all mixed perfectly, and the feel of the powder is really nice. Here is a picture of the primer container. While the primer definitely enhances the look of the shadows, I'm not having the best luck with it in the way of creasing. My eyeshadow was completely creased by the time school was over. If anyone has any tips for using this primer, please let me know! I feel like I might be doing something wrong, since so many people love it. Would I order again? Probably not, but it's not in any way due to the quality. I just like more sparkly, complicated shades. I guess I'm a snob. :P Also, here's a picture of me wearing China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. I really wanted this, then I realized I already have it! It was a nice surprise. :D I used 3 layers because I wanted a darker red. It is so pretty, shiny, and sparkly, I just love it. This picture IS photoshopped, I upped the brightness and contrast to get a more accurate picture of the polish, because the original was very dull. (I'm wearing Lancome Juicy Tubes gloss in Spring Fling, btw. Favorite gloss of all time) And here's my look for today! I never understand why people associate blue eyeshadow with whore-yness, I think it's so pretty on almost everyone. I used: Spell, by Meow (lid) Hippie, by Pure Luxe (supposedly)(eyeliner) Shroud, by Detrivore (inner lid corners) Lancome Hypnose mascara (this make me look like I have a ton of lashes, it doesn't really add much volume though) Covergirl eyeliner in brown black (I wear this every day) That's all for today. First post! Autumn brown look.

Hi everyone! This is my first post, and I'm pretty excited to be a part of the makeup blogging community. Just to begin I'd like to point something out- while I have around 90 samples, they are all from just 4 companies. I have purchased once from Aromaleigh, once from Heavenly Natural Beauty, and many many times from The She Space and Pure Luxe. I've had fast shipping, great prices, and excellent customer service from all of them. But now that I've started reading some other blogs, I realized there are a lot of great companies I'd like to try! So hopefully I'll order and review from many other places soon. I'd also like to say that I don't just do mineral makeup. If it is a good price and it looks cute, I'll get it. Anyway. Since it's fall, I decided to do a brown look today. I used: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Mascara (Side note- I heard they're discontinuing Max Factor in the United States? That sucks!) "Bambie" from Heavenly Natural Beauty "Nutmeg" from Pure Luxe (This is my favorite color, by the way. It's the perfect shade of brown and gives you a look that is natural but not boring.) "Chocolate Lover Gone Bad" from The She Space "Tarnish" from Aromaleigh I also have been using the Heavenly Naturals eyeshadow primer. It seems to work pretty well for me, but I'd like to try a different primer to compare. If anyone has a recommendation, let me know. I started light with Bambie, then used Nutmeg for the middle, and Chocolate Lover for the ends of my lids. I used Tarnish on my bottom lids. The finished result! I usually get complements on my eye makeup, but I had a TON of people notice it today. I was pretty happy. :3 I used four colors, which is actually more than normal. I like to do looks that are vibrant or simple, usually only with 2 colors, sometimes three. It's always good to branch out though! Side comments about Lancome A friend of my mom wears all Lancome makeup, a brand I've always wanted to try, but I don't want to pay high prices for makeup. This is why I only order samples (and also because I rarely wear the same color more than a few times). She had an entire bagful of products she has never used, so she gave them to me and my mom. I am in love with their Juicy Tube glosses! They small amazing, and even the ones that look darker work well on my lips (I normally only wear bright pinks). At $18 a tube, it's what I normally call too pricey, but since they look and smell so great, and moisturize my lips like no other, I'd recommend them to anyone. Spring Fling is my favorite. In the next few weeks I hope to share my reviews on drugstore products, as well as independent company products. I also have a lot of ground to cover with companies that are new to me.
