Starfruit Mantis EOTD

Here's a simple spring look I did using Meow Cosmetic's "Starfruit" (inner lid) from the Caribbean collection, and "Mantis" (outer lid) from the Lost Rainforest collection. I also used Make Up Forever's Aqua Liner #4. I'm not sure what lip product I was wearing, but I can see I missed a spot... :p Oops!

EOTD using Meow Cosmetics

Overall I really like the look I did today, although it was disappointing how my outer lid color ended up looking so similar to my crease color. What I used: Mornings of Gold, by Hi Fi (highlight) Kiwi, from Meow's Caribbean collection (inner lid) Mantis, from Meow's Lost Rainforest collection (outer lid) Ocean Spray, from Meow's Caribbean collection (crease) MAC Liquidlast Liner in Greenplay I also bought the new Maybelline One By One mascara yesterday, since my tube of Falsies is getting kind of gross. I accidentally grabbed the waterproof (I really don't like waterproof mascaras), so my judgment is on that, but I like it. It's not something to write home about, but it's pretty good. I like most mascaras that have the rubber bristles. I also was lucky enough to find, amongst a big pile of makeup that had fallen off the shelves at Ulta, one of the Physician's Formula blushes with the hearts on it! I was so happy ^_^ The reason I had gone in the first place was to get some foundation for my job interview at Macy's this Saturday. I've never worn foundation, just tinted moisturizer, which lately hasn't seemed like enough. I got the new Covergirl Natureluxe foundation in the shade 310, which is a perfect match for my skintone. I've only used it today so far, but I absolutely love it. It smells really good too. Here's a review of it from one of my favorite blogs, Noveau Cheap. And here's a picture of me and my kitty :) She's not shy anymore, she's already become the world's cuddliest cat. Sadly, she has a kitty cold, and keeps sneezing and getting snot all over me and the keyboard T_T I get to try and give her antibiotics later, can't wait...

Tropical EOTD

The other night I was bored and decided to play around with my makeup a little bit. I really like this look but feel like I have done many very similar to it. Hopefully reorganizing my stash after I move will give me new color combination ideas! SHADOWS I USED: LID: Aromaleigh's "Coney Island" CREASE: Meow's "Torch" INNER V: Fyrinnae's "Banana Mochi" BELOW OUTSIDE OF WATERLINE: High Voltage's "Frostbite" HIGHLIGHT: Hi-Fi's "Hail Ceasar" (this always shows up so brown in photos but it isn't!)

I need help choosing my Meow foundation color!

I have been sitting here trying to figure out which foundation samples to order from Meow for so long that the sale would be over in just a few minutes if they didn't just generously extend it until Tuesday. Thankfully they did, so hopefully before then you guys can help me! For my actual skin tone, it looks like I could be a 1/Sleek, or a 2/Frisky. My real problem is figuring out my undertones. I have done all the little tests and tricks to discover what my undertone is, and I get a different result for everything I try. I am so confused. I don't want to have to order an insane number of samples, as I do NOT have the money for that right now. If someone has any idea of which foundations might work for me based on my FOTD's that I've posted in the past, please please please let me know! I know a lot of you wear Meow foundation, so any suggestions you have would be extremely helpful for me.

EOTD inspired by prettybottles

I did this look a few days ago, and it was inspired by something Elizabeth from prettybottles did. It ended up looking nothing like it, as most things I imitate turn out, but I like it. It's very sunset-y. Eye makeup: Concrete Minerals eye primer Pale Jewel, by Hi Fi (inner lid) Toucan, by Meow (center lid) BFF, by Meow (outer lid) Mornings of Gold, by Hi Fi (highlight) Dear Mom, by Glamour Doll (under waterline) Maybelline Falsies mascara some purple Jordana twist-up stick liner Not sure why I saved my close-up pictures so small...I hope everyone is having a good week; it's almost the weekend!

Aqua & Purple EOTD

Phyrra and Pixie always do such nice blue & purple looks, so I decided to do that color combo the other day. Sadly, my camera decided that I am only allowed to have one lid color at a time... the blue did not show up here at all, which I really don't get because it is a very vibrant teal and it definitely isn't close at all to the purples I used. It still looks like a nice purple look, though :) Side-note: I checked the tracking today for my Urban Decay Book of Shadows 3! It's in Illinois now, so hopefully I'll be getting it in the mail tomorrow. When I was asking the SA at Sephora about it (the day before it went on sale on the Sephora website, coincidentally), she didn't even know what I was talking about. I think those of us who have an intense relationship with makeup & blogging probably know more about it than a lot of the Sephora SA's do! What I used: Between the Stars, by Hi Fi (inner v) Karaoke, by Meow (inner lid) Magic Spell, by Hi Fi (invisible on outer lid) Ephemeral Violet, by Aromaleigh (crease) Crystalline, by Detrivore (highlight) I wanted to keep it soft, so I didn't use eyeliner. Not much else to say today, I hope you like the look!

Meow Simple & Guilty Pleasures swatches

I actually haven't seen too many people swatching the Pleasures dual collection from Meow, so I thought I'd show you guys the few that I ordered. Of course, some are up and down instead of left to right... sigh. I swear the little Blogger monsters are like "SHE'S TRYING TO UPLOAD SWATCHES! QUICK, FLIP THE PICTURES! GO GO GO!" >:[ Here are the Simple Pleasures colors I picked out. From left to right: Funky Dance, Rainy Day, Birdsong, Karaoke, Making Love, Morning Latte, Purpose Can I just say that I HATE the phrase 'making love'. It irritates the hell out of me. Just call it sex like adults, geez. Purpose is actually a very peachy color, the swatches of that shade really aren't very color accurate. I LOVE Birdsong and Funky Dance. Here are the Guilty Pleasures ;] From up to down, damn it: Soft Porn, Illegal in 50 States, Margarita, Lace Lingerie, Those Heels One of my kitties was in my room so I got her in the picture :) Illegal in 50 States is the real showstopper, imo. I have no color like it. Here's a look I did the other day using Birdsong, Purpose, Soft Porn, and Morning Latte. For some reason that last picture makes me think of Nea. :) Have you ordered anything from this collection? What do you think of the shades? I think this probably is my favorite Meow collection, tied with Lost Rainforest.

Meow Lost Rainforest EOTD

With every LE collection Meow releases, I get more and more impressed. They are definitely one of my favorite companies now, and I can't wait to get paid tomorrow so I can get some colors from the new Simple/Guilty Pleasures collections. I already got a free sample of Lace Lingerie with my last order, and it's basically the best purple ever. I might need a full size, heehee. I don't usually swatch the collections, as you might have noticed, but this is because usually a TON of other people already have, so I'm not going to bother with that. Here is a look I did using some of the Lost Rainforest colors. What I used: Concrete Minerals eyeshadow primer Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy Macaw (inner lid) Bromeliad (outer lid) Tropical (crease) e.l.f. gotta glow blush as highlight Maybelline Falsies mascara L'Oreal Extra Collagen mascara Sephora kohl & liner waterproof pencil in Keep Brown Covergirl Liquiline Blast in Green Glow (below waterline) Urban Decay Ultraglide gloss in Lust I adore this look. I did a slight cat eye, which I thought looked really great irl. I also love how Macaw and Bromeliad blended, making an orange-ish color in the middle of the lid. I also want to say that the gloss I used is my HG gloss, hands down #1 favorite of all time. Other Ultraglide glosses are on sale for $5 on the UD website right now, but it looks like Lust is sold out. Grab a tube next time UD is on Haute Look! I'm going to stock up next time. Sorry I haven't been using blush in a lot of looks lately. I don't wear blush if I'm going to work, because running around all over the place makes my cheeks have that natural I-work-at-Arby's flush. :P What are your thoughts on Meow? Have you ordered from the Simple or Guilty Pleasures collections yet?

Muted Mint EOTD & blog love

Also known as "Relax, Julia Dreams of an Uncharted Crystalline Baby"! I had a very clear idea in mind of how I wanted this to look, and it didn't turn out how I planned. I should have used a NYX jumbo eye pencil (in shade Cottage Cheese) as a base since I was using such pale colors. Oh well. I still like it, it uses many colors but is very understated. What I used: Concrete Minerals Eye Primer Relax, by Sassy (lid) Uncharted, by Meow (outer v) Julia Dream, by Hi Fi (crease) Crystalline Highlight #10, by Detrivore (highlight) Baby, by Aromaleigh (under waterline) HiP Cream Crayon in Meticulous (eyeliner) Rimmel liner in brown (waterline) L'Oreal Extra Collagen mascara Maybelline Falsies mascara I never do extended out v's (I call them butterfly wings) cus I suck at getting them symmetrical, but I actually got it pretty even this time. Random updates: Going out of town for a couple days and probably won't be able to post. :( My Suds N Sass package I ordered should be getting here tomorrow, and I'm bummed I won't be able to tear it open! I have to figure out what makeup to pack, I hate making that decision... *sigh*... also, Cherry Culture is having a 20% off sale that ends on the 30th, so take advantage of it now. I placed a small order, I'll show you my goodies when they arrive. Now for some blog lovin... Yeah, I know that bobby pin is pretty awesome. You can buy them at Julissa's Etsy Shop for only $1! I got the cutest earrings too, I'll make sure to show you guys sometime. Here's some blogs I've started following recently, read them and weep (at how much beauty has just been brought into your life, obviously). I may have already posted some before, I'm not going to dig through old posts to see. 2 simple LOTDs

Hey there, I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much lately. As of this last Thursday, I have started my 11+ days in a row of work. I did get someone to take my shift this Tuesday so I could have a day off, though. I don't even both wearing makeup some days if I know I'm just going to be working, so I haven't done many looks lately. My posting will probably be pretty sparse over the next week. Here's a really simple look I did yesterday. I didn't use mascara because my Falsies and Extra Collagen ones make my lashes so huge, they hit my glasses frame and its really annoying. I feel like my eyes look manly without mascara, lol. Uncharted, by Meow (inner corner) Intimate, by Sassy Minerals (outer corner) S.S. Anne, by Shiro (crease) Moondance, by Stardust (highlight) See what I mean about manly eyes? :P I wish Intimate showed up better in these pictures. It is actually a beautiful, very pink toned orange. I'm going to buy a full size with my next Sassy order, its only $4.25! Today I wanted to do a smokey eye with color. I wish I had used a hot pink instead though, I feel like the pink I used looks kind of "dirty" or "muddy" this way, know what I mean? Love Affair & Dear Mom by Glamour Doll (mixed together on lid) Midnight Train, by Sassy (crease) L'Oreal HiP crayon in Intricate (liner) Maybelline Falsies Mascara Coraline's Kiss lipstick by Morgana Yeah, a goofy face... get over it, it's the only one I've ever done since I started this blog. I like it because it really shows off the gorgeous Coraline's Kiss. So, I started playing Silent Hill: Shatter Memories on the Wii. Apparently it's the same story as the very first one, but updated and modified slightly. It's fun as hell, and creepy as hell too. I think it's the first game I've ever played that's not rated E, lol. Can anyone recommend me some more games like this? Horror-survival type is what it is, I guess. My giveaway ends tomorrow, I'll post the winners Monday morning.

Berry FOTD

Hey everyone! I apologize that I am currently behind on answering comments and catching up on everyone's blogs. I worked from 4-close last night at work, and today I had to get my cap and gown, go to lunch, and now I'm heading to work and then seeing my boyfriend! Tomorrow I have a meeting, I have to go to garage sales with my mom, work, my friend's graduation party, and I'm having people over for a movie. So my weekend is already really busy! Hopefully I'll catch up on Sunday. How is your weekend going? What I used: UDPP Wet N Wild purple cream shadow type thingy (from the Art and Abstract set) Parental Advisory, by Hi Fi (inner lid) Lemming, by Fyrinnae (center lid) BFF, by Meow (outer lid and crease) Sugar, by Hi Fi (highlight, blended in) Prestige My Biggest Lashes mascara Rimmel eyeliner in black (waterline) HiP eyeliner in Violet Volt (under waterline) Physician's Formula RX under eye concealer Hard Candy Sheer Envy face primer Revlon PhotoReady translucent finishing powder Wet N Wild blush in Heather silk (heehee) Revlon moisture renew lipstick in Coral Shimmer Too Faced sparkler glamour gloss in Violet Vapor That last image is a close up on my lip so you can see the crazy iridescence of the gloss! I also have it in a color called Diamond Dust. These are $9 on Beauty Ticket, I highly recommend you snag one! I don't know why I haven't been using them lately, they're amazing over lipstick. I also finally bought the Hard Candy primer, and I love it. You need such a teeny amount, and it works so well for only $8- my powder stays all day. I also love the blush- it is the most pigmented I have ever gotten, and it cost $3. Isn't that necklace lovely? It was part of my birthday present from Blix :D I am also wearing Urban Decay marshmallow scented body powder I got from Lillian's blog sale. I love the smell soooo much! I'm off to work, I hope everyone has a terrific Friday night.

Meow Cosmetics revisited

I liked the look of Meow's Wild Child collection, so even though I wasn't really pleased with my last order, it was quite a few months ago and I decided Meow was worth another shot. I got some Wild Child samples, and some samples of their Taboo blush. I felt ripped off by the shipping price... $4.35 for 10 samples? That's almost half the cost of my order. I just paid less than $3 in shipping for a Hi Fi order with 3 full size shadows, 14 samples, and a big gel blush. So this seemed unreasonable to me. I did get it in the mail pretty quickly, with a "feliner" sample, and a bronzer sample. My swatches are with bare skin on the left, Concrete Minerals primer on the right. I don't normally do swatches with primer, but since these are all pretty glittery, they really needed that base. All the bare skin swatches I went over 3-4 times, and they still weren't totally opaque. Pixie Epoxy is a must for these shadows. From left to right: BFF, bt dubs, TTYL, sexy time, TMI, geek cred I like all these colors, they're bright and pretty. I also got the Wild Child blush in Hang Up after seeing it on some blogs... I thought it looked pretty close to bt dubs, so I swatched them next to each other. bt dubs is on the left, hang up is on the right. Although this picture leans way more gold than peach, you can still see how similar the colors are. I can't tell them apart. Here are the blushes in totally crappy lighting, the sun kept going away as soon as I got ready to take the picture. >:[ These are actually very vibrant and shimmery irl. Left to right: Exposure, Dirty Talk, Racy I love the blushes, I think they're gorgeous. So this pretty much makes Meow a mixed bag for me. If they put out another collection I like, I'll order samples, but I'm not satisfied enough to become a regular customer like I am with other companies. What are your thoughts on Meow?
