Ahhh I can't believe I have 100 followers! This is so exciting :D I will obviously be having a giveaway to celebrate, but you may have to wait a while for that, lol.
Yesterday we had a shit ton of snow and school was canceled :D The roads were really not bad, so I ended up going to the mall, and to one of the Asian grocery stores and getting mochi ice cream. Delicious! I wanted to do a blue and silver look (overdone, I know) to seem winter-y.

Wow, I used a lot of stuff for this look! It drives me craaazy how my lips always look the same. This gloss has a really cool pink iridescence to it. I wasn't going to do waterline eyeliner, but the white around my eyes made them look so big it was almost creepy. I needed a visible ending point :P The glitter was more obvious in actuality, which I thought really completed the "snowy" look.
Also, this Hot Topic liner SUCKS. It is really hard to use, and I had to dip it back in probably 5 times per eye. The Milani liner, however, is fantastic, it stayed on all day without the tiniest smudge. I really recommend it, especially because you can get it in bright purple (I did) and bright green!

So as I was at Hot Topic the other day doing my usual drooling-but-not-buying routine at items of Hello Kitty, Lady Gaga, and Alice In Wonderland, I noticed they had some makeup on sale. A lot of items were .98 cents apiece, so I thought I'd get some to review, since I've never tried any of them, and I haven't seen them on anyone else's blogs. I always love looking at their polishes- they have so many pretty colors. They have a lot of pretty palettes too, although none on sale so I didn't get any. I purchased 2 polishes, 2 glitter eyeliners, and one eyeshadow.

So, the eyeshadow is just a matte white, nothing remarkable. The glitters look just as they do in the container, dry in a couple minutes, peel off easily, like you would expect. The nail polish is not as unremarkable as these items, because it totally SUCKS.
You have to hold your grip on that teeny tiny black lid, which makes it really difficult to keep a steady hand. The brush is fat but not in a good way, and it's stiff and the bristles spread themselves out for a weird, uneven coat. Also, the polish is thick, gloppy, and runny. When I pulled the wand out of the bottle, it dripped all over the sides, and I had to keep trying to wipe it off and stop it from dripping everywhere.
So while I'd say most of the Hot Topic makeup is the mediocre quality you would expect, DO NOT buy the polish. These weren't even worth the .98 cents, much less the normal price of $3. Don't get sucked in by the pretty colors!
Hopefully by next weekend I'll have some Forever 21 makeup to show you. Mall brand makeup is intriguing me right now.
I know I haven't been posting lately, and this will probably continue for at least the next week as I am actually getting hours at work! I'm really excited to finally be getting some money to buy new stuff :D But I'll try to keep updated as much as I can! And I know I have awards people tagged me for... maybe when I stop being too lazy to fix my layout, I'll post the awards.
I did an EOTD using a Sephora brand Colorful Eye Shadow Palette in "Mauve Yet! 05". This was a gift from my BEST FRIEND Maria (happy now missy?) :D I love her. The shadows are slightly less pigmented than they appear, but I think it will be like my NARS shadow, where I have to use it a few times to get the right color out of it.
I never buy any quads or palettes or anything, but now I see why people like them. Having pressed powders that go together can make for a really quick and easy look. These pictures don't make it look as good as it did irl, but I thought my makeup looked really polished and professional. This might be my new everyday look!
I don't know what other things I had used for this look, but it was probably mousse blush, the collegen mascara, blah blah.

I got asked this at least 3 times today, which I thought was really weird. I was like "Uh... I put on some eyeshadow... then eyeliner." It was that simple, I don't have time to do great looks before school, unfortunately. I wasn't even bothering to put on blush. I wanted to try out some of my Urban Decay stuff from the Haute Look sale, and the amazing Bare Escentuals Buxom gloss set I got from my friend Maria for Christmas (review coming soon!)

1. I had bought a crappy primer from a crappy online repackaging brand one time, and thought primers didn't work. That was before I learned about Detrivore primer and UDPP... now I always use one of the two, usually along with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.
2. Repackaging, you say? What's this? Almost ALL the online makeup I had bought pre-blogging was from repackagers. I thought Lime Crime colors were so unique and pretty, I was almost willing to shell out the $12 for them. Thanksfully blogging has opened my eyes, It is a lot easier for me to tell if a company is a repackager now.
3. This was technically about 1 1/2 or 2 years ago, right when I first started getting into makeup. I saw L'Oreal HiP colors and thought they were the brightest, most unique colors out there. :P Now I laugh at the thought, they are so plain compared to places like Aromaleigh, Fyrinnae, and Hi Fi.
4. Another one that was before blogging, but still. ONE eyeshadow color. I thought that was a whole look in itself. Now I wear one or two eyeshadows on my days when I don't have time, or I'm going somewhere like my grandma's house, so I don't want to be over the top. Most real looks of mine now use between 3 and 6 colors.
5. Lipstick! I had actually never worn real lipstick (aside from some Hello Kitty stuff meant for little girls) until just about a month ago, after seeing this post on Julissa's blog. Her lipstick swatches looked so pretty I decided I had to start trying lipstick out. I think I have 8 now.
6. Nice, expensive, name brand makeup never seemed like something I'd get. I had barely ever even heard of Sephora, and I had browsed the UD website but just gave up cus it costs so much. I never thought I'd be willing to shell out $17 for a primer. Just recently I got 4 UD products from that Haute Look sale- cost with shipping was only $21! Beauty Ticket has lead me to get products from Too Faced, Stila, and Jelly Pong Pong. My friend just got me a Sephora palette and AMAZING Bare Escentuals glosses. I love indie makeup, but I do love the "nice" stuff, too.
I'm sure there's more, but these are what come to mind. And of course, I've tried out so many new makeup and polish brands I see on everyone's lovely blogs. Blogging is a really important thing to me now, reading your blogs and writing my own makes me really happy. I love chatting with people who share my obsession!
